Great victory and great results from both Martin and Stetina.

Amazing victories with Martin. Should be a great Giro and I think it might be another GT for Garmin too if Martin can kepp this up
Stetina did great job too, as whole of the team throughout Trentino. Well done

Excellent. Just excellent.
Great ride by Stetina, clever jump from Dan Martin. Fantastic team work. If you could do this in the final stage too, you'll definately win the GC!

Thanks all. I hope the Giro will be similar but actually I expect Nibali and Scarponi in a better form there and also some other favourites.
Giro del Trentino - Stage 4
Andalo – Madonna di Campiglio
Similar stage than yesterdays and surely something for the climbers with Martin being motivated to repeat the performance. In Stetina he surely has the strongest helper here.
8 riders in an early break. Michael Rasmussen probably the most popular although there is nothing left of his earlier strength.
Proni, Ascani, Wurf and Mahoric other notable names.
It`s a very rainy day and so with 130km to go it`s the 2nd in the overall in Efimkin, who goes down. Bad luck for the Russian. At least he can stay in the peloton.
Just 8km later also the 3rd goes down. Pozzovivo misses a corner and crashes on one of todays bridge. Like Efimkin he is also able to stay in the peloton, but nothing known yet of possible injuries.
Lampre in full control. They want to do everything for Nibali to keep the lead. Todays climb is not as hard as yesterdays, so he surely has chances.
Tiralongo and Zaballa attack ahead of the two mountain sprints.
In the background you already see Garmin overtaking the work. Bobridge and Meyer do some work but it`s mainly our young neo pro and big climbing talent Souchon, who shows some of his power for the first time today.
And so these two never really get away of the peloton, which is down to 52 now. Next to our 3 big climbers in Martin, Stetina and Peterson it`s only Souchon for us still doing all the work alone.
A bit ahead of the 2nd KoM sprint the Frenchman closed the gap and having done his job he is falling back on the right side now.
Time for Peterson to attack. He rides out of the peloton taking the points and secures his jersey this way. Afterwards he falls back into the group again.
Bad news for Team Type 1. Efimkin is obviously injured after his crash and can`t follow on the short climb. Several team mates are trying to help him but actually he isn`t looking good at all and his 2nd overall might be lost today.
With the final climb starting and a bit more than 15km to go it`s Vorganov and Rubiano with an attack.
So it`s Peterson doing a great job now increasing the pace by a lot. His personal goal is already secured. Now he is trying to help Martin.
At least the two attackers are back again. The group is down to 30 now.
Coming to the steeper half of the climb it`s Stetina overtaking from him. As yesterday he is doing a great job.
Not much later the group is down to 8.
Martin, Stetina, Scarponi, Nibali, Niemiec, Sella, Rubiano and also Pozzovivo, who had obviously more luck with his crash.
Often you had the feeling that Stetina could easily jump out of this group as he might have been the strongest today. But he always waited for Martin, who had the better chances to win the overall.
Like yesterday Pozzovivo and Martin are stronger than Nibali and Scarponi and so they start their attacks.
Stetina has done his job and now he tries to give his best to get a high overall as well.
Martin attacks while a group of 4 is not far behind. Nibali, Scarponi, Stetina and Sella.
And he takes his 2nd win. But is it enough for the overall?
Pozzovivo is counted with the same time as 2nd and Nibali, who did well in the last 2km is third with 17s back. That said, Daniel Martin wins the 2013 Giro del Trentino with 4s on Pozzovivo and 15s to Nibali.
Very well done by him.
46s later Stetina sprints on a great 4th with Scarponi and Sella being his his group.
Stetina also jumps on a great 5th seeing on all the work he did during the mountain stages.
Efimkin might be the most unlucky guy at the moment. Instead of the podium or even the race win he comes in some 12 minutes later. Bad luck for him as he was surely one of the strongest here.
I forgot to export the results for some reason. So here just a short overview

Great report and exacting till the end. Great job by Paterson and then even more by Stetina. Martin finished the job and got very well deserved overall win. Garmin domination throughout all the categories, well done ! Awesome preparation for Giro, and a sign of things to come at Giro too.

Again just excellent. Again the great strategy, again a fantastic attack, again the stage win and the GC victory by 4 seconds. Couldn't get any better, could it?

Thanks all for the nice comments. Haven`t expected to be that successful there but the combo worked pretty well and the other favourites in especially Nibali and Scarponi are not yet in such a good form yet.
In the next 3 weeks I have 4 big University exams, so don`t expect that many reports in this time. But here a report for the Fleche Wallone, which was already played during the Trentino race. But due to the lack of time without bigger preview this time.
Most big favourites participate in this race. Surely Gilbert wants this win in his home country after missing the Amstel win.
Garmin is particiapting with the same squad meaning that Roche and Vansummeren will be the leaders with Kessiakoff and Hesjedal being co leaders. A top 10 is our goal for this race although it might be the one that suits Roche the less and maybe more the climbers.
Biggest surprise maybe the abstinence of Amstel winner Cancellara. So today it`S up to Gesink and Schleck. Or maybe even Gerdemann, who showed a great race in the Amstel Gold Race.
Several longer hills on the 2nd half with the Muur de Huy being passed 3 times with the last climb in the final.
A huge group of helpers in the break of the day passing the line the first time. Obviously this group is allowed to go. Veikkanen, Feillu, Salerno, Pasamontes, De Gendt or Lewis might be the most popular.
Quickstep for their Belgium duo Monfort/Seeldraeyers and FDJ for one of the top favourites in Kreuziger are doing the pace.
With 120km to go the 10 riders have an advance of more than 2min now.
3 riders attack and bridge the gap with 110km to go. Peter Velits, Jose Serpa and also Garmin`s Kessiakoff, who has a great form at the moment.
No question that these 3 are doing almost all the work alone now.
Another 10km later Lastras and Moreno also decide to attack. They are now in between the two groups with 2'20 to each side.
But they also join the breakaway and now there are 5 real threats in here and they have a decent gap.
So it`s time for Liquigas to accelerate behind if Gilbert really wants the win here. Also RadioShack (Hermans/Sanchez) is seen in the first rows next to the former teams Quickstep and FDJ.
Horrible news for Garmin. On one of the steep climbs all new attackers create a gap with Kessiakoff missing it. Unfortunately he just went behind for water and got blocked by weaker riders then.
So it`s up to him now to do a lot of work hoping to come back. Plus having a -5 doesn`t help today.
A lot of chaos in the peloton. After the 2nd climb on the Muur it`s long stretched and some of the former break are caught. Many helpers are looking around now to check if their leaders are still there.
Gerdemann obviously wasn`t, so he attacks from behind coming back to the first group.
Meanwhile Lastras attacks. He seems to be the strongest although the other three would have been expected to be the better climbers/puncheurs.
FDJ goes all-in now pulling a crazy pace. They are supported by Ag2r for Van Den Broeck. But the gap is not becoming really smaller.
So Kreuziger attacks and Roche is following immediately. It might be our best chance for a good result today. Meanwhile Kessiakoff is caught again.
Some of the biggest favourites join these two. Including Andy Schleck, Gilbert or Van Den Broeck.
Gesink is chasing the 9 men group solo with a 20s gap while more riders are close behind him.
With 6km to go the 4 riders in front have still an 2'30 advance and are back together. Is this already a first decision? Obviously the Fleche Wallone is perfect for mid stage attacks as shown in the last years. A pity that Kessiakoff had this tiny moment of less concentration.
Also the 9 riders are caught by a still pretty big peloton. Did they spend all their energy already or can they still finish strong in a sprint?
At the same time Kreuziger with another attack and again a Garmin rider behind him. Johan Vansummeren had a easy day so far and felt strong enough to counter him.
Lastras is leading the group on the Muur de Huy with Velits coming fast on the right. Moreno already gave up obviously.
But Lastras wins the Fleche 2013. That`s a big surprise. Velits 2nd, Serpa 3rd and Moreno coming in 4th. Except of Velits none of them would have been expected to finish inside the top10 of such a classic.
Kreuziger kept a small gap and comes in 5th. He surely was one of the strongest today but still missing a really big win in a big classic or a GT.
Seeldraeyers coming in as 6th ahead of top favourite Gilbert. Martens, Hermans and Uran complete the top 10 with Vansummeren being the best Garmin rider as 13th. Roche`s 16th and Hesjedal`s 22nd are not bad but not the aimed top 10. Obviously countering all the attacks wasn`t the best decision as most riders of the former 9 men group suffered in the hard uphill sprint in the end.

La Fleche was a missed opportunity to get a top 5... Too bad. But I'm sure you'll do better in La Doyenne!

Unlucky race this one. Surprising winner, Fleche can be very unpredictable in PCM now. |

F-W always end with mid-stage attack of decent punchers winning ,if the teams start to chase late, pity this was the case too. Wish you better luck in L-B-L.

Always the same in la Flèche. Mid stage attacks always succeeds.
Not the best day for Garmin, but I'm sure Liège will be better.
