As i said to Isso on MSN, this team baffles me. They get their budget doubled, and now they're really going for the top riders right away, and suceeding.
BMC isn't a some new team with a big sponsor who just got interested in cycling, they are an established team, and although they have never had the money to sign these types of riders, they have always had a solid infrastructure and good leadership. Thats the reason I think they are able to sign such big name riders in only there first year with a big budget.
Budget Doubled this year, hardly any big races (Dauphiné, Romandie, Roubaix)

But, with the names they've signed, the chance of getting wildcard entries to the races they want to do are higher than most teams. Plus not being Pro Tour level means they don't have to go do the Spanish Pro Tour races, or ones they don't like. It's a win win situation. |

Isnt BMC's Directeur Sportif the same as that of Phonak, that 'clean' team. Lelangue?
And theyre getting some of the big name riders who were rumoured to Sky, who have been public in stating their anti-doping aims.
Its not too hard to take a pessimistic view.

Eurosport commentators say Gasparotto has signed for Astana. Take this with a very large pinch of salt though, as eurosport commentators prove on a daily basis that one of the requirements to be hired is knowing nothing at all about cycling.

Indeed. According to Eurosport, Gasparotto was attacking across to Kirchen... who had been caught about 4km previous. This is, of course, after 3km of deciding whether or not Gasparotto had indeed attacked or not... The peloton also only consisted of 30-40 riders. I despair. |

BMC is certain to ride all cobbled classics atleast with Ballan, Hincapie and Burghardt. Prolly ardennes classics too. And I'd assume that with those names they will get invites to other major races aswell. Like Cervelo this year. |

I don't think we can even begin to think about invites until we hear other teams 2010 rosters. But it looks likely they'll get some good invites. Roubaix again? Maybe yeah.

If you were running a cobbled race... who would get wildcards ahead of a team bringing:
1) A former world champion who's won Ronde van Vlaanderen and has two 3rd place finishes in Paris-Roubaix
2) The current US national champion who's finished 3rdn in Ronde van Vlaanderen, 2nd in Paris-Roubaix and 1st in Gent-Wevelgem.
3) Another rider with top 10's at Omloop Het Volk(or whatever it's called now), Ronde van Vlaanderen, Dwars door Vlaanderen, E3 Prijs Vlaanderen and won Gent-Wevelgem.
It would seem to me that as far as wildcard teams go... they wouldn't get turned down too much for the cobbled races. |

Our friends at the Unibet team taught us to NEVER assume you'll get an invite. (Different circumstances, but same argument)

It is 100 percent confirmed that Kirchen will go to Katusha.

Top prospect Tony Gallopin to Cofidis
Rafaa Chtioui to Acqua & Saponne
And Mike...thanks for posting, but you might want to read previous posts before posting. Specifically, that's been posted before

Well... very different circumstances.
Of course it's not a given... but I think with that lineup it would be a big suprise if a cobbled race turned them down. There are maybe 2-3 teams out there with more to offer overall to a cobbled race then BCS brings... not just the ones seeking wildcards. |
