Nairo Quintana - 2016
Forever the Best
Come on Nairo.

Jakstar22
Giro d’Italia

Today is the very first mountain stage of the Giro d’Italia. It is 159.9km in length and it goes from Cordenons to Altopiano del Montasio. I am in pink and I should be able to hold the lead today against Krueziger.

Stage 10

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/Stage%20Profile_zpsv1jcxhkw.jpg

The goal today is to follow attacks on the last climb and maybe even attack on the last climb myself. It should be a really good final climb today.

The Race

We sent Maestri into the breakaway and he was joined by Nocentini. They formed the breakaway of the day.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%201_zpskwnfaupp.jpg

Intxausti got on the front and was working to bring back the favourites who had attacked.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%202_zpsspeii5yg.jpg

De la Cruz was leading ahead of Pinot. Then it was my group which was still ahead of Krueziger by a good minute or so.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%203_zpsfve8xpk1.jpg

De la Cruz takes the victory ahead Pinot. I take 3rd and extend my lead in the GC to 2’02 to Krueziger.

Well I got the result I wanted. I extended the lead to Krueziger which is exactly what I wanted. Intxausti did a fantastic job leading me up that climb and without his work I wouldn’t have been able to get the position I got. Tomorrow is a hill stage which will be good Kwiatkowski might be able to take the win tomorrow.

Seeya tomorrow

Giro d’Italia

The 11th stage of the Giro d’Italia is another hill stage. It is 180.5km in length with 1 very large hill in the middle and another small one at the end of the stage.

Stage 11

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/Stage%20Profile_zpsndkr11y5.jpg

I am hoping to keep my lead and maybe extend it on today’s stage but I will try to help a team mate get the win today.

The Race

The break of the day containing 9 riders including our own Leigh Ridenton.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%201_zpsknmg1lo3.jpg

The gap peaked at 19’30 and it looks like the breakaway will most likely take the win!

Arroyo managed to escape from the breakaway and has a large gap with 2.4km to go.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%202_zps0yt7clth.jpg

Arroyo was losing his gap very quickly with 1km to go. Taborre and Weening were leading the way with the rest of the breakaway group 17 seconds behind.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%203_zpsqwdqrl8q.jpg

But Arroyo managed to hold on and takes a great victory! Taborre in 2nd and Weening 3rd.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%204_zpskwsr94w3.jpg

Ridenton finished off a great ride with 9th place.

I crossed the line in 10th over 10 minutes later. Intxausti and Nibali were the only riders still with me.

A good race from the team today. 3 people in the top 11 is a good showing. Now 3 people in the top 10 on GC as well! I also extended my gap to Krueziger but almost a minute! We are really showing our dominance here in Italy!! Looking forward to continue to wear pink here!

Seeya soon

Giro d’Italia

The 12th stage of the Giro is a 124km long flat stage. We will be working hard to get Ridenton the win.

Stage 12

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/Stage%20Profile_zpsuxqpc78n.jpg

So Ridenton is our main focus, he needs the sprint points and that’s exactly what we are going to work to get him. We are hoping to work hard enough to get him to the finish with his arms up!

The Race

The team got straight on the front. We were not letting anyone go from the front of the peloton.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%201_zps834rjddl.jpg

With 9km to go our train was at the front of the peloton. 1 rider was still out front but there was no way he could survive with only 20 seconds.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%202_zpsnaiyijo3.jpg

3km to go and it was up to me to get Ridenton up there. So far so good but Ferrari’s leadout has just overtaken us. Let’s hope I can catch up to them.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%203_zps0tqvohy3.jpg

Cavendish is leading with 1km to go. Demare is coming up fast currently in 2nd Ridenton is going strong in 5th and getting faster.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%204_zpsfpsb3wk4.jpg

And once again Demare is far too strong and takes another win.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%205_zpsnkdjtwhr.jpg

2nd is Bonnet and 3rd Kreder. Ridenton finishes in a good 6th place.

Stage 13

So I would like to see Kwiatkowski get a win today or a punchy sprinter like Leigh Ridenton.

Hey everyone. So It has been a while since the last update and I am sorry for that! I have decided that I will finish this season and it will be the last of this story. I have been thinking and I am going to be taking a small break from PCM story writing. Studying and working and the Man Game are taking up a lot of my time and I am striving to be a known singer/songwriter so I need time to write my songs and practice. I will be back though when I get PCM16 and I will be back better then ever! However, I will be finishing this season! I hope you enjoy the remainder of this story and thankyou all for following!!

Giro d’Italia

Back into the mountains with a 155km long stage with 2 large mountains.

Stage 14

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/Stage%20Profile_zps4fkkaqtw.jpg

I am hoping Intxausti can be strong enough to take a high finish and move up the GC. I am just going to watch Nibali.

The Race

Pajaron attacks from the breakaway with 60km to go. He is trying to go solo the entire way!

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%201_zpsetslbkos.jpg

Uran attacks with Brambilla so Intxausti tries to follow.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%202_zpszjm3myks.jpg

2km to go and 1 lone breakaway rider was still surviving but only by about 20 seconds. It was Mulot from FDJ followed by Nibali, De La Cruz and then I was in the next group on the road. Only 30 seconds between the front 3 groups.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/GI%203_zpspsxbtbcz.jpg

And Nibali takes the win ahead of De La Cruz and Mulot! I take 4th.
