He takes the first 3 riders, like Team Classification I think.

I take a big risk with asking this question. Don't kill me if the internet crashed with the outrage/support
Anyone know if Contador was tested after the TdF (because most thougth he will not race again before september)?

How should we know?
The main thing about Contador's injury and participation at the Vuelta, was always the tibia fracture. Question was for the Vuelta, if it heals up and if he can ride without (too much) pain. It all came down to that. Apparently it did heal up, though with some complications at first. Granted, there may be some exaggerations from PR side to make his comeback more spectacular.
If you wonder why he's so good and is able to attack and ride at the front; professional cyclists often are without a single ride for several weeks, for example Nibali after Giro and ahead of last year's Vuelta. This is pretty common, and so it's not surprising to see him back in racing condition so fast. Contador had enough time for training rides and to re-gain his form. You don't lose all that hard earned fitness in a couple of weeks.
Also, Contador dropped out relatively fresh from le Tour, before any tough mountain stages. He has also shown, for example in Dauphine, that his base level this year is pretty damn high, where he was in competition from the get-go, although not doing a race for 2(?) months.
However, Contador still certainly lacks the peak level for that extra punch for now, like maintaing the effort after an attack (like he said), but he will get it probably in third week, when he really needs it. From where he was coming, his performance was great, but it was a result of circumstance.
Also, keep in mind, that Froome is likely to have suffered from his crash two days earlier, and Purito and Q did catch up with him.

Looks like a promising TT route today, should definitely be fun to watch. Im especially interested in Nairo Quintana, I somehow think he will do fine. Valverde the same, he is usually money in rather difficult TTs in Vuelta. I dont think we will see big differences compared to a complete flat TT. Here my bet on a top-5 after the TT:
1. Contador
2. Froome + 10
3. Valverde + 40
4. Quintana + 55
5. Urán + 1.20
I dont know what Anacona will be able to to. I think he will slip towards the end of the top-10. This TT is probably most crucial to Rodriguez though, if he loses 2 minutes on Contador/Froome, I think he is done although i actually expect him to be the best climber of the 3. Also funny to see whether Belkin will continue their tradition of fucking themselves over in TT's. Dan Martin is also interesting, he could lose a couple of minutes more today. And how will Chavez do? |

Gesink will lose time (1-2 mins maybe even more) in the TT while Kelderman will do it good.

Belkin has Kelderman who is a great TT'er normally, though he isn't at his peak this Vuelta. He said he came to here a bit tired due to a jetlag. (he rode Utah). He hopes to get better the second week. Gesink is an average TT'er and in great shape so I expect a top 20-30 for him. |

Yeah, good TT by Spartacus, though the descent certainly favored his skills I guess. Hardly a TT for Malori, so we'll find out what Cance's time is worth once Panzerwagen rushes through.
Isn't this TT quite similiar to the one last year at Vuelta and the one before? They really have a thingy for those hilly TTs in Spain. I think Contador did better than Froome in 2012 IIRC.

I don't think so and I certainly don't hope so. Guess it'll be rather close together.
