Too bad Szmyd isn't up there. He would have blown the team cars away.

He's in front of the team cars, so he must be towing them.

Aren't Liquigas up a bit early?

Final climb's too short (ends 2.8km from the top) and the 2nd last climb is easy. They should've replaced the Lavazè with the Pordoi

Tiralongo blows. It's his day. Tomorrow it'll be Kreuziger's. They take turns apparently Pfft

Lavazè easy? Wut?

By Giro standards. It has a hard patch of nearly 3 kms near the finish, but the rest of it isn't really a mountain.

You can say it's short. OK. But easy?

They're not starting from the bottom? Interesting. Never seen that done before. Basically they skip the easy parts and go straight to the pain.

He clutched the radio to hear what he was being told and immediately swung off to the side and soft pedalled

EDIT: Then when he got to the cars he was sent back up

Yup. Otherwise the stage would be some 20 km longer.

The question now is: Did Liquigas slow down because without Szmyd they're missing one guy, or because Basso isn't feeling so good?

Pretty sure Basso's feeling good though.

The pace in the main field must've been quite low during the last few minutes.

Even Agnoli has made it back now. Rolling Eyes

Basso is looking extremely relaxed. I am praying for some attacks in a little while Smile

Pirazzi giving Casar a helpful push back on the descent. Not sure I'd want Pirazzi of all people grabbing my saddle at 70km/h+...

Pellizotti2
Casar tries to drop Pirazzi, but isn't able to.
