Thanks all.
@ cunego59: Thanks a lot. Hope for similar outcome in the other 2.

Giro del Trentino - Stage 1
Riva del Garda - Arco
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_1.jpg
We start with a 13km timetrial. It might be a bit too short for our two Aussies to show all their talent here. But nevertheless they count to the favourites due to the abstinence of most time trialist.
Next to them it`s race favourite Nibali with good chances to get the lead already on the first day.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_3.jpg
Pozzovivo is an early starter as Mollema will be their leader on the paper.
The Italian is surely no time trial specialst.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_4.jpg
Time for former Australian Champ Cameron Meyer. Without big problems he sets the new best time.
18'32

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_5.jpg
Still quite early our next hope for today. Jack Bobridge was stronger in the Championships this year and he is also stronger today. He beats Meyer`S time by 4s.
18'28

Later Polisz rider Maciej Bodnar from Liquigas suprisingly sets a new best time by far. 18'08 for him. This was really surprising as he wasn`t expected to be that good today but obviously he has the form and a good day.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_6.jpg
Coming to the rest of the favourites. Starting with the 2nd Colnago big man. Bauke Mollema is also a pure climber. He loses the internal team duel by 8s.
19'12

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_7.jpg
Dan Martin is our hope for good results here as also later in the Giro. But similar to the Colnago guys he is a pure mountain goat and fears all kind of flat time trials. But also we couldn`t expect a great result here we had hoped for a little bit better to be honest.
19'27

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_8.jpg
V. Efimkin wants a top 5 here for sure. The Russian takes teh best time of all favourites so far.
18'54

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_9.jpg
Scarponi celebrated his biggest career win last year after his team change with the Giro d`Italia. And surely he wants to do it again.
18'42

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_1_10.jpg
Top favourite Nibali seems to be in a good form already coming in 2nd of the day being now in a great position for this race, while Martin must gain some time on his opponents.

Already a great start from Nibali. Really the man to beat here.

tsmoha
Very good start by Garmin! Nibali looks in great shape, as well.. will be a tough challenge Wink And I really like this screen of Bobridge Smile

Alakagom
It's kinda good and not best start to the race. Both Aussies done great, but with Nibali so strong it's going to be tough to beat him in the mountains.

Already a good start to Trentino for Garmin!

Your leader is a little far back though, probably.

Avin Wargunnson
Nice start for your TT specialists, not so goo with Dan Martin. But he is not in good form i suppose? Still he will feel a lot better in mountains, good luck for at least top 5/10 Smile
I'll be back

3rd and 4th, a great start for Garmin. Nibali seems to be a bot unbeatable though. But with a bit of luck, everything is possible.

Thanks all. I had hoped for the stage win but 3-4 is also fine for me.
Nibali indeed already pretty strong, while Martin lost quite a bit. But there are 3 hard stages to come, 2 really mountaineous ones and a hilly with hard finish.

Unfortunately I lost 2-3 screenshots for some reason. Don`t know where they are although I saw them once. Wink So a bit shorter this report but I can promise you a bigger report for the 3rd stage. Haven`t played the 4th yet.

Giro del Trentino - Stage 2
Dro - Ledro Bezzecca
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_2_32.jpg
Already this stage looks very hard with a long uphill section before a shorter flat part in the end, this is probably the easiest of the 3 stages to come.
Can Bodnar stay in the lead today or will a favourite take the jersey. Best chances probably for Nibali.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_2_33.jpg
Several riders in an early break. You might mention decent puncheurs in Marzoli (Acqua & Sapone), Bertolini (Androni), Stybar (Quick·Step), Brambilla (De Rosa) or Mazzanti (Farnese).

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_2_35.jpg
Lampre is doing a lot of work in the early phase of the race with Liquigas (Bodnar/Bellotti) and Astana (Petrov) doing a bit, too although they don`t have the biggest favourites.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_2_36.jpg
Nevertheless Liquigas is doing well here chasing the breakaway hoping that Bodnar has a great day.

It`s mainly Bertloni, who resists quite a while in a solo ride to avoid the fusion with the peloton again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_2_42.jpg
But with the first favourites attacking, he had no chance and is caught by the peloton.
First to attack is Efimkin (TT1). The Russian is followed by Ginanni and Pozzovivo but also Sella and other riders follow so everything is back together on the flat with a sprint of a bigger group including Martin and Stetina, who had a calm day.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_2_43.jpg
Surprising winner. Rubiano (D'Angelo) takes the win ahead of Scarponi. The duo started the sprint from far behind but had an incredibly speed in the end overtaking all other riders, who started an earlier sprint including Callegarin, who looked like the sure winner today. Good time gaining for Scarponi in especially, while other favourites like Nibali, Martin, Pozzovivo, Mollema or Efimkin could`t collect the bonus seconds.

Maybe Rubiano can make a little surprise and fight with Nibali for the victory. Pfft

As for your riders, close to the top-10, Martin might get there in the end. Wink

Giro del Trentino - Stage 3
Molina di Ledro – Fai della Paganella
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_1.jpg
Maybe the harder mountain stage of the two left. Lot`S of climbing and descending on these 172km and especially the final climb is pretty steep and should bring gaps.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_2.jpg
Several riders try to attack. One of them is Garmin`s Peterson, who is not taht far behind in the overall with just a bit more than 3min. The American is aiming the KoM jersey here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_3.jpg
But with 4 riders Nibali`s Lampre team is surely not interested in allowing such a huge group to go.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_4.jpg
Later with the first climb starting 6 riders are leading the race. Peterson, Mahoric, Horrach, Savini, Melero and Giordani.
Another 8 riders are in between this group and the peloton with Betancourt or Monsalve being the best climbers in there. Peterson is the best placed of these 14, while some others are some 6min behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_6.jpg
Peterson takes the first KoM sprint ahead of Horrach and Betancourt, who joined the leading group now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_7.jpg
During the stage Garzelli decides to attack out of the peloton. The aging Italian is a bit better placed than Peterson and is allowed to go.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_8.jpg
And some time later he bridges the gap and now Acqua has a good opportunity here with Garzelli and Betancourt.
With 50km to go the gap is at 4min. So it will be a hard task to get a stage win but surely a possibility for the 2nd KoM sprint.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_10.jpg
Also the peloton is accelerating now and so the first riders fall back. ~40 riders are still in the first group, where Lampre is doing most work. Next to Martin and Stetina, who are riding very well in the first rows also young French neo pro Souchon is doing well today supporting his leaders more than expected.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_11.jpg
Seeing that the peloton gained almost 2min on the first half of the climb Peterson increases a bit and only Garzelli is able to follow him.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_12.jpg
All riders are caught but the duo. Unfortunately they can already see them ahead and it won`t take long for them to bring them back.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_13.jpg
Peterson really wants the next 16points and accelerates again. This time Garzelli can`t follow.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_14.jpg
Emanuelle Sella attack out of the peloton. Acqua & Sapone really is the most active team today and with Javier Moreno they still have another climber in the pack.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_15.jpg
Peterson wins also the 2nd KoM and will wear the KoM jersey tomorrow. Great job by him although he struggled in the end and Garzelli was close to joining him again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_16.jpg
On the descent they are caught by the peloton again. Goal achieved today. Now he can relax behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_17.jpg
The favourite group is down to 17 with the final climb starting now. Lampre and Acqua are the best teams here next to Garmin while most other leaders are isolated here. Surprisingly one name is missing. Bauke Mollema is obviously not in a great shape and is some minutes behind. All the other favourites are still here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_18.jpg
On this climb now Stetina is immediately starting to do the pace for Martin. Already after 1,5km into the climb some riders can`t follow. Peterson and Garzelli are some of them.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_19.jpg
Half of the climb and still it`s Stetina doing a high pace.
Next to him and Martin it`s Nibali, Niemiec and Pietropolli for Lampre, Efimkin, Scarponi, Pozzovivo and also still Rubiano and Sella.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_20.jpg
Niemiec, Pietropolli, Sella and yesterdays stage winner Rubiano fall back now not being able to follow the group of Giro d`Italia favourites.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_21.jpg
This came surprising. The yellow jersey from Nibali falls back. The top favourite suffers a lot.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_22.jpg
Pozzovivo, Efimkin and Martin realize the new situation and start an attack. Stetina did an awesome job today. Together with Scarponi he rides a bit ahead of Nibali.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_23.jpg
With 1km to go Martin has a small gap to the other two.
Behind Nibali obviously foudn his 2nd air and pulls Stetina with him and now Scarponi can`t follow.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_24.jpg
Big win by Dan Martin today. And he surely knows that half of the win belongs to Stetina, who was doign great here. Hopefully we will see something like this more often in the Giro later.
11s later Pozzovivo takes 2nd ahead of Efimkin.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/PCM11_April/Trentino_3_25.jpg
Nibali loses 37s but will keep his jersey by just 4s on Efimkin, 10s on Pozzovivo and 14s on Martin, who improved on the 4th today.
Stetina loses another 4s but is 7th in the overall now.

Tomorrow we just have to try the same hoping for another gap to enter the podium or even the overall win although the climb doesn`t look as hard as todays.

Great stuff from Martin and Stetina there. Now go and do the same in stage 4, and you've got a GC victory in reach. Wink
