Stage 8 : Santa Clarita - Pasadena
After Rogers lost the leader´s jersey to Alberto Contador we´re still in the Top5 in the overall but with only 6 seconds to the third position me might have a chance to get a podium in the end
The breakaway could not survive at the front today as they were brought back to the pack with more than 20 kilometres to go
As we already expect the sprinters had no chance today as the stage finish was to hilly.Rogers made a move on the last uphill section but Barredo and Sastre went after him
Barredo was in front when the sprint began while Rogers,Sastre,Grajales and Lill were a few metres behind, sprinting for the podium. But we couldn´t see Contador,Armstrong,Wiggins and Leipheimer! They were still in the pack with 25 seconds to Rogers
Barredo takes another stage win in California!
But the most important thing is that Rogers finished in this group as 4th with an advantage of 30 seconds to Contador,Wiggins,Evans and Leipheimer. That means Rogers takes the leader´s jersey again!

Stage 15 : Mestre - Monte Zoncolan
Today is gonna be the hardest mountain arrival in this year´s Giro d´Italia!
There are three hard climbs before we will reach the final Monte Zoncolan which is just terrible with 10 kilometres. It´s almost impossible to defend Martin´s jersey today but we´ll try everything!
With only 8 kilometres to go the pack had already reached the final climb while Brushegin and his team-mate Arroyo were a few seconds in front but this group was fast enough to catch them.Up to here Martin had no problems to stay in this group with Basso,Nibali,Cunego and Pellizotti
Garzelli made the first serious move on this climb with 6 kilometres to go
Just a few moments later Pellizotti went after him but Tony Martin could not counter these moves
With only 4,5 kilometres to go Pellizotti had even passed Garzelli and his advantage to Martin and this bigger group became more and more while Martin wasn´t able to attack
With only 3 kilometres to go Pellizotti was still in front of Garzelli while the first chasing group with Martin had to fight against the fans
It was hard to see Pellizotti because the fans walked over the road and it was dangerous for Martin but he was still able to stay in this group with Basso and Cunego.Pellizotti´s advantage was about 2 minutes and 20 seconds
Pellizotti takes the stage and maybe the leader´s jersey?
Great performance by Garzelli! He finished as second 27 seconds behind Pellizotti
Behind, the sprint began for the podium but Martin had not the legs today while Basso was in front
That´s it!Basso became third in front of Arroyo and Scarponi.Martin came with a great 10th place 2 minutes and 37 seconds behind Pellizotti which means he lost his jersey but that´s still a fantastic situation for our team

Still a great result, although Pellizotti will most probably take the sprint jersey with that supremacy.

Well, probably you´re right because there are too many mountain arrivals where Pellizotti could take more points |

There is one mountain time trial which is maybe too hard for Martin and the last stage is a flat TT there he could get some seconds back but it´s still a long way to go |

Stage 9 : Rancho Bernardo - Escondido
Today is the last stage in California!Rogers should be able to keep his leader´s jersey but it´s gonna be a really nervous stage with many attacks because there are still many riders who can improve their overall positions
After many moves a leading group was built with Carlos Sastre and Alberto Contador. At the moment he would win the overall classification because Rogers is a few seconds behind
The first chaser of Sastre and Contador was Denis Menchov just a few metres behind
And in the third group group was Michael Rogers with Leipheimer and Farrar
We knew that Rogers will loose his jersey if he wouldn´t try to reach Contador and so he started another attack with only 4 kilometres to go
The sprint began in the first group and Alberto Contador had no problems to take the stage win in front of Sastre and Menchov
While Contador is celebrating his stage win,Rogers is fighting against the clock but it doesn´t matter because he got the same time like Contador today! That means Michael Rogers is the overall winner of this year´s Amgen Tour of California!

Stage 16 : ITT San Vigilio di Marebbe - Plan de Corones
After the terrible Monte Zoncolan yesterday where Martin lost the pink jersey to Pellizotti, the next hard stage is waiting. It´s a mountain time trial about 12,9 kilometres but if Martin is strong enough for this upgrades? The biggest favorites for today are Garzelli,Nibali,Brushegin and of course Franco Pellizotti
After great times by Szmyd or Popovych,Nibali was the first big favorite for the stage win.His ride was really impressive, setting a new best time with 34 minutes and 29 seconds
Damiano Cunego couldn´t keep it up the with the best today!Well, his whole Giro up to here wasn´t fantastic by him but with this ride he shouldn´t be able to get a great overall position in the end
With Garzelli came the next one with a great time, beating Nibali by 16 seconds! But if this would be enough for taking the stage?
When Brushegin crossed the line it was enough because he was 8 seconds behind Garzelli
Then it was up to Martin! But it wasn´t his day while he hadn´t the legs for setting a great time.In the end he was even passed by Pellizotti but he could still get the 13th position
As I already said Pellizotti was too strong for Martin! He even passed him on the last metres while taking the stage win in front of Garzelli. He was 29 seconds fast than his Italian mate.Martin lost 1 minute and 9 seconds to Pellizotti but he was still able to defend his second position in front of Brushegin

Pellizotti is doing great. Martin is too. Looks like a top 3 for MArtin and young rider comp.
