to fix the problem with the wildcards you have to edit the db/savegame. I did it with Hannes Converter and it worked for me so far.
You need to find the table "STA_UCI_class" and change "fkIDtype_invitation" from 3 to 4. You do this for those race categories:
Top Tour - Autres Classiques
Top Tour - Classiques Majeures
Top Tour - Autres Tours
After this change all continental teams can ask for wildcards.
So I was able to win the Fleche Wallone with Rebellin. |

This database is definitely unplayable for me. I tried everything i immagine myself, but the game crashes everytime i load the cyclists to a point of 134/135. And simmulating isn't enough for me to have fun!
More players have reported this here. So comon, if there's anyone out here who knows how to fix this with Hannes Converter, please let us all know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....thx)))))))))))) |

Are you playing with a savegame you started before the V3.2 was released? |

Nope its a total new game. I am playiing Vacansoleil and all went well including Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. It started with the Beverbeek race at the same day with a different part of riders of my team. All the races since then are crashing at the point where the riders are loading, at the end 144/145 for instance. Only simulating is an option to play the V3.2 database for me. ((I also tried one of my former save-games:they work fine (they just show up in the original PCM2008 shirts, etc...)..... |

Okay. Because i started a savegame after the release of V3.1 and before the V3.2 was released. I updated the game but decided to continue with my old savegame, but because i had updated it I got the same bug as you have now.
I don't know any solution, but would recommend that you do a complete reinstall where you follow all the steps and try again. No reason to deem this great DB (aside from the three major bugs) unplayable. |

Ramayogi: If you get a crash at every stage at the last cyclist texture, my guess is that you did something wrong while installing. It means that there's an equipment file missing - so try completely uninstalling the game and then install, plus making sure that you're installing in the right folder - and making sure that you're using V3.2 and not just V3.
Plus, we said from the very beginning that yes, it's possible to sign up for the Grand Tours - but not for any of the other PT events. So nothing new there.
Biscuit: Yes, it's normal to only have two candidates for 2010. In fact, I only wanted one, Melbourne, because that's how it is in real life.
Young_Caesar: You're forgetting two things:
1. This DB has more equipment than any other DB released so far. Where the original game only uses a few textures, this DB has different textures for pretty much all teams. Therefore, more CPU power is used. That said, we did include a Performance Update, allowing a few more ressources.
2. More importantly, the new stages, e.g. Giro and Tirreno, are much more advanced than Cyanide's original stages. One building too much, and the game will crash. Unfortunately, PCM isn't very good at handling too much data, so where a game would normally just run a tad slower, PCM crashes. It's not very good at memory management.
So, either lower your settings or find the stage files and remove some of the isolated buildings.
And a last comment for everyone: Why are you playing with a withdrawn DB? |

Because I personally like the balance between the amount of teams and amount of races (too many teams and too few races means too many riders who don't even get to ride 10 races a year which isn't realistic, but making teams is a lot faster than making races)
AND I easily skipped the 7 June bug with Hannes Converter and still really enjoying my Jelly Belly career. But I understand you withdrew the DB for this reason as you only want to "deliver" a perfect product to the public. I hope you deliver the same perfection with your upcoming exams. Good luck and thank you. |

great, seems it works except asking WC for TdU, but this can be solved by editing DYN_team_race after WC request´s deadline
thanks a lot! |

Thanks for all the advice CrueTrue. I will reinstall the game and will react on it.
I also love this database very much, because with the smaller teams you can now ride a more realistic programm))..so i keep on playiing your database!
Now Biscuit might have found some solution on the Wildcard-issieu i would suggest to upload the DB once again, so others can easily enjoy it. The time-bug(s) are easily to pass with HC. ..))... |

@CrueTrue
Thx, I'll give it a try. So which graphical options would you lower? AA or forest details?
I have deleted now many of the isolated buildings for one stage and let's see if it works. But do you really think a C2D E8400, HD4850 and 4gb RAM aren't enough to play without crashes?
Edit: Unfortunately deleting many isolated buildings didn't change anything. Still crashing.

I had some problems with the ToC. My own view on this is that the stage is partly to blame. Maybe there are too many waypoints, etc in the stage.
Lowering the graphic settings works sometimes, but I think the stagemaker is missing something somewhere.
Just my view - only race I had a problem with in the .db so far was Tour of California. |

The Wild Card thing was disabled on purpose since it's a part of fixing the March 2010 bug - but sure, give it a try. If it works for you, that's great.
Young_Ceasar: Even if you had the strongest available computer, you would probably experience crashes once in a while. It's got nothing to do with specs, it's got to do with the game's memory management which isn't good, to say the least.
Remember, though, that there's a difference in the kind of crashes. If it crashes during loading (e.g. 2nd last cyclist texture), it's an equipment problem (most probably). If it crashes during the stage, it's the memory management problem, and lowering the graphic settings should work.
As a test, you can always try to set all settings to the minimum and check if it works. If it still doesn't, there's obviously something else wrong which we're not aware of. It could be what Fenian mentions, too many waypoints or whatever. I've zero experience with stage making, so I'm not really qualified to check it out. |

okay, I just came back from a short holiday to London and since I don't have the time nor energy to read trough anything I just have a few questions
- is the v3 really unplayable, are the bugs that bad that you just cannot pass certain dates/races?
- If so, do you have to completely reinstall and go back to v2 for a playable DB or can you just install V2 again?
Dwight K. Schrute: 'I'm not a hero. Im just a mere defender of the office. You know who is a hero? Hiro from Heroes. That's a hero. And Bono'.

it depends....someone has faced "march/june" bug only, on the other hand game is mostly unplayable for some others...I would recommend to test and gain your own experience with V3 and then decide whether is good or not |

thanks but I want to do a story so if it crashes it'd be really frustrating for me. I hope someone from the DB team could advise what;s the best solution in this case
