I really hope he will find another, strong team. An Armstrong vs. Contador battle would be immense... Just like back in the Armstrong vs. Ullrich days...
Good luck to Sastre, beating those, without the help of the Schleck's |

Elijzen with Dekker to Lotto
Michiel Elijzen is joining Team Silence-Lotto, along with his friend Thomas Dekker.
The 26 year-old Dutch rider rode for the Rabobank Continental team from 2002 to 2005 before signing with Cofidis for two years. He returned to Rabobank this season. In 2007 he won the prologue of the Eneco Tour and was second in the national time trial championships

According to the CSC fans at the official forum, Caisse announced too early that G. Larsson had signed with them. He will decide between CSC and Caisse during this week.
The problem is that CSC didn't offer enough money + he wasn't promised a spot in the TdF squad. Both demands are fulfilled at Caisse, and they are waiting for his signature. |

I had trouble believing that he hadn't signed with Caisse, but I managed to find the original source which has a quote by him: https://www.smp.se...875341).gm
"– Jag ska bestämma mig efter VM. Det är två väldigt bra lag. Jag är väldigt nöjd med mitt nuvarande stall, och fortsätter gärna där. Men det är många faktorer som spelar in. Det ekonomiska, trivseln, och vilka race jag får köra"
--> "I will decide after the World Championships. Both are very good teams. I'm content with my current team and will gladly continue there, but many factors have an influence: economics, my well-being, and the races I get to ride." |

Am I living on the moon or has it not been mentioned?
Scheirlinckx is going to Lotto and Verbrugghe will be a DS at Quickstep
I had no idea (although none of them is surprising)

So, Aqua, that makes the whole "gang of 4" out of Cofidis. Can I actually respect them fully now?

I just realised, if anything, the French riders should not be trusted.
Let me explain. In Holland, cannabis is allowed. In France, this is completely out of the question and they have on of the strictest anti-drug laws.
However, France has far more drug abusers (relative ofcourse) as the Netherlands, even almost the most in europe!!
Back to doping, France has the thoughest anti-doping laws, if anything it's comparable to drugs, so .... the french sporters must be huge dopers |

and by the same logic there are no dopers in Italy.

Nah, there's definitely no more huge team doping going on here like there was before 1998 and like there still is in certain teams.
Now, of course, there are still loads of cheaters (more than in other countries ? I wouldn't dare claiming it) in every sport.
Our top cycling teams (=Pro Tour ones) have decided to sacrifice performances but to ride fair. At least one of them doesn't really play it that way (AG2R), and it's not too nice to see in Continental Pro or Continental teams either, although it's more the riders who deal "light" stuff (amphetamines, corticoids, etc.) than an organised system (Festina like).
If I were to classify teams into three categories :
- teams with organised doping : none in France
- teams closing their eyes on their riders doping : AG2R, Agritubel, Roubaix, Bretagne, VC La Pomme, etc.
- teams really fighting doping among their riders : Cofidis, FDJeux, Bouygues, Crédit Agricole
Cofidis belonged to the second category till 2004, that made no doubt to me even back in 2003.
Belonging to the last category doesn't prevent you from having an imbecile caught (Fofonov).
