Notice that there is no pause from now until the quarters. the quarters start tomorrow.
And after tomorrow, Portugal's players will be seeing all remaining games in front of the TV

I have really like Russia and Hiddink's way to play football, impressing. Hope they can give Holland a fair fight, I think they do |

Well what can I say.. Guus Hiddink is just fantastic .. this is the 3rd time he makes a sensation with a team.. First South Korea WC 2002 .. Then Australia 2006 .. Now Russia 2008 ..
Arshavin is their best striker .. He played really well today.. Igor Akinfeev is a great keeper .. Really young and talented..
I hope they can do something about The Netherlands..

Russia lost, with Arshavin, 4-1 in a friendly against Holland, and back then we were very poor too with a completely different team and other formation (4-3-3 instead of 4-2-3-1). Russia has no chance really. |

Then Holland must have an offday. They will get chances against Russia, and seeing the efficiency in the matches against Italy and France, they are absolutely screwed. But we have seen more miracles lately. |

Russia is like the underdog here and it will be interesting to see them going against Holland (or the Netherlands which is better?), but I don't think they can win. Holland players are in top notch condition. |

Carvalho is better. I have no doubt that Portugal's defence is the strongest of any team. The midfield, however, doesn't always work. The strikers can't score. And the goalkeeper is horrible.

Oh, damn.. 1-2.
(I do cheer for Portugal, but seems like I was a bit too quick in my post above) |

oh it is, no doubt about it. In both goals, as usual the problem was Petit...a midfielder.
I can't really say I'm downhearted about this. I'm "meh". I predicted all along portugal would be knocked out in the quarters, so they're right on track.
