Not really. He raced at the front in a bunch sprint on slippery roads. He wanted the stage win, and he risked it and he crashed... Can't compare that to a huge crash in the peloton at a roundabout.

At such things, I'm always for the right and sportmanship thing to do. It speaks volumes that riders only show sportmanship when they have the time to do it... when they lead, know that they win (compare SKY at Tour 2012 where Wiggins won and to Vuelta 2012, where Valverde crashed and SKY forced pace). If it's close, expect nothing from your rivals, no matter how much you gave them in the past. But let's forgive him, Evans must be suffering of Alzheimer.
