i guess i could probably find a better place to make my first (at least i think it is) post, but reading a thread about the vuelta being reduced to a discussion about one man being doped or not hurts me.
of course he's doped, just like the rest of the guys in the top 25, the breakaway, the heaviest guys trying to make it within the time limit, and bloody everyone else with anything to ride for
That being said, if Horner is clean I might as well be the Queen of England.
if anyone in the top 10 is clean, ill marry you, and we can ride into the sunset together to rule the magical kingdom of tomorrowland together.
... but really, we know they're doped, most wish they werent, rest doesnt care, everyone's tired of hearing about doping, and the only way to solve the problem is to fix the root of the problem.
guess what im trying to say is, can we please talk about the race instead? |

You're trying to say we shouldn't talk about doping, bacause by talking we won't change anything. Therefore, by that logic, we shouldn't talk about anything. You just killed internet forums!

I'm afraid we'll have to marry, but I really don't want to (who knows, maybe you're a nice chick full or qualities and I should reconsider my statement, but somehow I doubt that).
How can you be certain all the peloton is doped ? That's an abusive generalization. Most enlightened observers seem to agree on a proportion of 50 to 70 % of riders being clean (as in not taking or doing anything forbidden by the rules).

more like trying to say that there's a time and a place for it, and while the time for it is now, the place for it is in a discussion trying to come up with ideas to solve the issue.
also the problem isnt that some people use doping, its that everyone does, so you have to do it to succeed. getting rid of doping would most likely require shorter races, with less brutal climbs, so that would be a good place to start, instead of going in the opposite direction. |

We don't have a dedicated topic (used to, but that didn't really work), so we talk about it where or when needed. Not that my opinion really matters, but I like it that way better than CN forums for example.
I can't believe some people still think forbidding marathons because they're too long and exhausting would solve doping issues in running. It's not like 100 m has a clean record...
And "everyone does". What to say ? It's not June 1998 any more... |

No. We are nobodies (as far as the antidoping fight is concerned) talking in a PCM forum. It's not our burden to find the way to solve the issue, but the UCI's (lol), WADA's and teams'/riders'.

1) Not everyone dopes. Not even close (see Aquarius' post).
2) Shorter/less brutal races are NOT a solution, nor helps fighting doping in the slightest. Riders dope to go faster, not to be able to finish. For more reference look up Marion Jones or Tyson Gay.

i dont think i said everyone, but since it came off as such, ill clarify.
the guys in front trying to win, and the heaviest of the guys in the rear.
edit: for the shorter races, its not for the riders, its for the spectators.
double edit, i did say everyone, i ment it as a generalization, referring to the stars of the sport.

Considering the current top 10, start picking your bridal dress

I cant really understand Pinot downhill. In the Tour he couldnt go down stairs and now he can do well in rain
He has fear of speed. Not descents.
Rain makes everyone go a lot slower and it benefits Pinot a lot in this case.
[Catching up on day before yesterday's part of the thread, yes I'm that behind...]
Plus it's related to a past trauma that was triggered by a recent near miss, he has been fine in the past. I'm sure since the Tour he has been building up his confidence and speed on descents to get over the latest relapse. Might even have deployed a shrink to help out too.

I actually think horner is the cleanest of them all. He probably just held back his strenght all his career just to surprise at this Vuelta |

Yeah, how couldn't we just figure it out? And Froome? He always been the world's best stage racer, he just wanted to wait for 2011 to show up. |

More catch up - not sure if Geniez was ballsy or mad on the descents yesterday but great win. Felt sorry for him riding into France to win with all of 50 people to cheer him home at the finish line |
