Hot Wheels - Porsche | We're back!
MrUfo87
sutty68: The overall will be very difficult, like I already said. But of course we'll try it. And at least the stage victory is in the pocket! Grin

Volta ao Algarve – Stage 4

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage4_zpsdde27800.jpg

Today should be an easy day and that’s what we like when we have the leader jersey.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1010_zps4391049f.jpg

Here is Watson at the start. It’d be an easy day for us. At least, until the final twenty kilometres. There was a breakaway, and several teams had interests in today’s stage so they chased them and took them back. They solved our problem, which is nice from them. But then the trouble began.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1011_zpsa7d5e4e9.jpg

Former world champion Philippe Gilbert attacked and Dutch champion Lars Boom countered. Watson countered as well. He took Boom’s wheel but unfortunately Gilbert was too far away.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1012_zps434c9ed3.jpg

Gilbert won the stage; it was his first victory for his new team Garmin-Sharp. Watson and Boom were caught, but Watson still finished 8th. Gilbert took twenty seconds and now he is tenth with the same time as Rogers; 1”33 behind Watson. Gilbert can cycle a decent time-trial, but can he take 1”33 on Watson in 19 kilometres? You’ll hear the answer tomorrow...

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1013_zps4a135caf.jpg

And of course here are all those pictures of the podium ceremony. It’s just too great to see our riders standing on it.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1014_zpsd87fc522.jpg

We think the points classification should be possible to win tomorrow, but we’ll see. It’d be nice, but as I said yesterday, it’s not our main goal.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1015_zps9701a492.jpg

This jersey is already in the pocket and we’ll take it home. It’s nice to already have it with one stage left.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1016_zps14298d3a.jpg

This jersey will also be decided tomorrow, but it should be possible. The gaps are bigger here than in the GC.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%204/PCM1017_zpse4490090.jpg

And we’re still leading in the team classification. Great!

Today's Winner

sutty68
A nice comfortable day for Ian Watson Smile

The Rider
Don't fail us now Watson! Smile ... Although Gilbert pulling out a gap in such terrain isn't a good sign for the boys .....

MrUfo87
sutty68: Well, untill Gilbert attacked. Wink Since then it was difficult, and unfortunately he lost some time. But fortunately he still has a gap to him.

The Rider: Yeah, it's a shame we lost 20 seconds + 20 bonifications. I hoped for an easy day ending in a mass sprint. Well, it was a mass sprint, but for P2. The time-trial will decide it, and with Gilbert as former Belgian time-trial champion it won't be that easy...

Volta ao Algarve – Stage 5

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage5_zpsd9eab64c.jpg

Well, here we go. Our fear for the time-trial didn’t came from nowhere, but hopefully today’s will be our lucky day.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1018_zpseafb84bb.jpg

Byrne was one of our first riders to start. He’s our best time-trialist, but we didn’t expect a lot from him.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1019_zps963510d0.jpg

But he did great. In the last kilometre he passed the rider who started in front of him, and the time-trial was only twenty kilometres. Nice job.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1020_zps848e0cf1.jpg

And when Byrne crossed the finish line, he was fastest at that moment! Great for now! But there were many good time-trialists who still had to start. For example world champion Bradley Wiggins and national champions like Cancellara, Van Rensburg, Machado and Jungels. There are many strong time-trialists here, but only one can win.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1023_zps6d3d31d1.jpg

And here he is: Ian Watson. Our biggest fear is Philippe Gilbert, who’s 1”33 behind Watson. Can Watson hold his leader jersey?

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1024_zps23239001.jpg

And here is Watson when he finished. It was close, very close. But who has won? Is it Watson, or is it another cyclist?

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1025_zpse6d2b6df.jpg

IT IS WATSON! Ian Watson, only nineteen years old, takes his second victory of the season, his fourth of his career and his second general classification! What a result! This is awesome! Gilbert came very close; he was only four seconds away from the victory. This was so sensational! We came here with a Top-10 as goal, and we leave with three riders in the Top-10. Freire lost his podium place but we can live with that. 1st and 5th is better than 2nd and 3rd. We’re so happy with this!

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1026_zps5fd1b5c1.jpg

And we also managed to win the points classification. That is a surprise, because we never won a points classification before! So we achieved another mile-stone!

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1027_zps882d5882.jpg

We also won the mountain classification after stage three, but now we can take it home.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Volta%20ao%20Algarve/Stage%205/PCM1028_zps5b6b170b.jpg

And Watson also took the young classification, which is obviously because he also won the general classification. Watson won all four classifications, which is a great result! Unfortunately we lost the team classification to Orica-GreenEdge, but we’re still second there. And the team classification isn’t really important.

Today's Winner

Yay, What a Great Overall victory for Watson Grin, Totally deserved, but it was so close in the end, only 4s Smile

tmr96
Great overall victory of Watson Grin and hotwheels won also all of the other jerseys... Smile

sutty68: It was very close in the end indeed, but we've won it! Grin We're very happy with it. Smile

tmr96: Can you predict the future? You actually did in your post after stage two. Wink But this is great indeed. And may we call winning all jerseys complete domination? If so, we were the best team over here. Wink

The Rider
Fantastic win/ fantastic tour. Wink

-- I was going to say well done on the final stage, but Watson did finish 155th! Who cares, Hot Wheels take the GC, and about twenty other jerseys. Smile

The Rider: It's been fantastic indeed! Grin We actually did well on the final stage because if we didn't we wouldn't win. Wink And yeah, this was a race we dominated, and it's great that some very good cyclists participated here because now we've beaten them. Smile Unfortunately there are only four jerseys otherwise we would've won many more jerseys. Pfft

Le Tour de Langkawi – Stage 1

Stage Preview

After our victory in the Volta ao Algarve we hope to continue our results here in Langkawi. It was the first time we were on the list of the stage favourites; Watson had one star.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%201/PCM1034_zps3944fe6d.jpg

Garcia Sánchez was our rider in the breakaway who should take the points and mountain points. But he could only take a third place in one of the intermediate sprints. The stage was with 93 kilometres short, so the breakaway didn’t have a big chance. And of course the gap was too small, so we got a mass sprint.

Last year Jamis had Haedo as sprinter, but after he left to Astana they signed Hutarovich. Today he takes his first victory for Jamis. Watson wasn’t very at the front of the peloton, so he had to come from far. Eventually he finished 9th, which isn’t bad. But we hope to be better the next days.

Today’s Winner

Nice to see Watson carry on his good form in to Malaysia Smile

sutty68: And this sprint even didn't went very good. So maybe we can finish even higher in a mass sprint. Wink

Le Tour de Langkawi – Stage 2

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/LeTourdeLangkawiStage2_zpsf62f4f13.jpg

Today we were not on the list with stage victories, as we were yesterday. But of course that doesn’t make any sense.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%202/PCM1036_zpsab6f2aaa.jpg

Today it was Freire who was in the breakaway. At the only mountain sprint of the day he was second.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%202/PCM1037_zps2a71691d.jpg

Although the breakaway had a big amount of riders, they didn’t have a chance today. Jamis really wanted to hold the leader jersey, so they caught it on time.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%202/PCM1038_zps101fe2d2.jpg

When the breakaway was caught and the sprint got prepared, the Jamis lead-out created a gap. Only Watson could follow. Of course Hutarovich is a strong sprinter, but maybe could Watson do something. Can he?

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%202/PCM1039_zps4a0837a9.jpg

Hutarovich won and took his second stage victory. Watson did a great job and finished second! His first podium in a mass sprint! His goal is to win a mass sprint. Could he do that this season?

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%202/PCM1040_zps277aa732.jpg

Because of the bonification seconds Watson is now second in the GC and he’s the leader of the young classification! This was a great day for us!

Today's Winner

sutty68
Watson certainly has ambitions of another Overall Race victory Smile

The Rider
I'm not sure about that sutty. However, Ian certainly has great form in Langkawi continuing on from Portugal. I didn't expect him to get a top 7 never mind a second place! Cool

MrUfo87
sutty68: The GC here will be difficult indeed. There are two mountain stages so I don't see Watson riding a good GC. Wink But we have Rogers and Remuzgo who can ride a decent overall position. Wink

The Rider: Yeah, you need a bit of luck to finish that high. Unfortunately he isn't good enough to beat Hutarovich, but a second place is great indeed. His next step: winning a mass sprint. Wink

Although we weren’t on the favourite list after yesterday’s second place, we didn’t worry about today. Watson is in great shape so we think we can do the same as yesterday, or maybe even better...

Just like yesterday we had Freire in the breakaway, and the breakaway had many riders.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%203/PCM1043_zpsbdeadb75.jpg

But of course the breakaway had no chance. With five kilometres to go, Freire decided to attack.

But Freire didn’t have a chance and got caught. Watson took, just like yesterday, Hutarovich’s wheel. This time he could follow, but he couldn’t overtake him. Bazayev, who moved from Astana to Christina Watches, could overtake them and won the stage. Hutarovich finished second, while Watson took another podium. He’s really doing great. He’s now third in the GC, with the same backlog as Bazayev. We’ll see how good Watson will climb the next two days.

Watson still wears the young jersey. We’ll see if he still has it tomorrow.

Today's Winner

Le Tour de Langkawi – Stage 4

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/LeTourdeLangkawiStage4_zpsd66c7bd2.jpg

Today was the first mountain stage. Could Watson hold his good position?

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Le%20Tour%20de%20Langkawi/Stage%204/PCM1046_zpse6ce7106.jpg

Once again there were many riders in the breakaway. This time it was Rodriguez who was in the breakaway.

The breakaway was caught around 50 kilometres before the finish. After that, the peloton slowly climbed towards the top of the mountain.

That gave an opportunity to Freire to take the mountain points. He’s now one of the leaders in that classification, but he may wear the jersey tomorrow.

The final was very chaotic. There were many attacks, but almost all attacks failed. Remuzgo tried it in the descent, but also he failed.

After him, it was Rogers who tried it as well. First it was looking good, but also he got caught. The whole group, which included around twenty-five riders, rode together to the finish.

Atapuma from Champion System was the best one on this finish and won the stage. Although we were climbing today, Hutarovich is still leading. Our sprinter lost a lot of time and is now 26th in the GC. Rogers was our best rider today and he’s 10th in the GC now, 52 seconds behind Atapuma.

And as I already said, Freire is the new leader in the mountain classification.

Today's Winner
