The stage finish is an uphill sprint, suited to a sprinter/puncheur

And spent some time in making a schedule, so it's nice that that wasn't a waste of time Grin
Oh, and Froome, the report is nice, but maybe it would be good that if you mention a rider that you put the team abbreviation behind it. (For example: Degenkolb(ARG) wins the sprint)

Nice 5th by Commeyne. Too bad Devenyns lost time. Was it a fall or just the speed that made the peleton break up??

I've sent JJ Haedo to TDU and expected several Top 10s and some Top3/5s...

I can now confirm that San Luis will conclude tomorrow!!! Woo hoo!

I now also need to ask for the next couple of startlists!
I need startlists for the Volta ao Algarve and the Giro del Calabria
That is CT teams only.

And also, is there anyone still interested in running a race. If so PM me, and you may get Calabria to run.

And to the WT teams. After these 2 races its Paris-Nice, but dont send startlists yet.

Tour de San Luis - Stage 6
Lujan - Quines


Classed as flat... It isn't...

Very very quickly formed break on this 201km stage.
Wallays(TSV), Malacarne(EUS), Romero(CJR), Battaglin(COG), Kunzli(SPI), Delfosse(LAN) and Duggan(COL) made a largish group of escapees.

Battaglin powered to both KoM's, which were in the first 50km, both times ahead of Romero. Kunzli and Wallays shared third's.
It was on the second climb (a massive mountain) the peloton split into several parts.
A group of about 20 got totally dropped, which included many of the main sprinters such as Napolitano, Markov, Van Stayen and Schulze.
The break slowly built up a max lead of 11'00.
It was Farnese who took up the chase, alone.

With 20km to go the gap was 3'41.
With 15km to go the gap was 3'14, things were looking good for the break.
With 10km to go it was 2'01.
With 5 to go it was down to 1'36 as Saur-Sojasun took over. But it would be the breaks day.
Battaglin flew with 1.5km to go. Malacarne and Wallays tried to go with him but failed.

So Battaglin eased to victory ahead of Malacarne and Wallays.

As Saur pushed the chase in the finale Mollema, 2nd in GC, somehow got caught the wrong side of a split, losing a top10 GC position.
