Woah, never took notice of this thread before. Fantastic performances and reports, Shonak! I'm so proud of you! Qualified for the NYC marathon, awesome.
As i told Shonak before, great job there. Cool to see steady progress and a sub-3 marathon is very good! Looking forward to read about the NYC marathon next year

Used to be one of my favourite threads but has really gone quiet the last decade. Definitely time for a revival of the thread.

Its been six years since i posted about myself here. Time for an update:
After my previous post there were a couple of years where i didnt really continue running due to a combination of injury, study/work and motivation issues. Returned to proper training in the covid years and am now more focussed and faster than ever.
Like previously, Im still focussed on the middle distances. 800m always used to be my main distance and it still is but ive also started to like the 1500m a lot. This year its basically a dual focus between the two distances with everything else a byproduct of training for them.
Longterm i could see myself shifting towards a 1500/5000m runner as my relative lack of top speed might cap further 800m improvements but for now, 800m is still my best distance and i might still have a few years before i go there.
Could have listed a few other distances such as 10km in a mid34 time but those are quite a bit weaker, older and/or not ran near peak shape. Never raced a half or full marathon and thats fairly unlikely to change in the next few years.
