Listen, Smoothie, Trek and Specialized make pretty comparable products all along the line, except at the high end of road and mountain bikes. At the high end of the road, nothing compares to the Madone in terms of a perfect blending of comfort, lightness, and stiffness. The bike rides great, and with that 90 mm bottom bracket you know the bike has the stiffness you need to power up hills and the like. Also, the OCLV Carbon that Trek uses is much higher quality than any other Carbon on the market, and that is not up for debate. If you want me to I can spend three hours digging up all the research that has shown that.
As for Mountain Bikes, your right Specialized is better than Trek, but they are not better than Gary Fisher. Fisher has the most experience in the Mountain bike industry, and they always build great bikes. |

*yawns
this boring, mindless natter about two companies really doesn't interest me. Maybe you two should begin a new thread, such as "trek vs Specialized", as you're kinda going off the topic of "Your Cycling" when all you're doing is speiling a load of old cods-wallop

Dude, all carbon is OCLV... why trek make big deal out of it is a reason why i can't explain. Its only the 6.9 where you use Non-cosmetic carbon (The layed up criss cross carbon), Trek twists and bends carbon in ways that its not designed. Even Pinarello beat trek in stiffness and they uses the MOst bends. Your technologies are so outdated now. For god sake you didn't even use Compact frames till 2006. Also you are completely wrong with the Gary Fisher comment. The same people who poorly design Trek also do the same with Fisher. But they do it slightly better. Specialized have been established since 1974 and they have been creating the best mountain bikes since then. The Epic S-Works 2008 in its Debut year was the first Full Suspension mountain bike to win the World Cross Country mountain bike championships. If that doesnt stand for something then you are a bigger muppet than i thought
Its nothing personally Deadpool i do enjoy debating this. Its going to be funny when you finally find something Trek does better than Specialized |

I am currently commiting what SMoothie would refer to as Sacrelige against all that is specialized. I am painting my Specialized shades. They are currently chrome/silver and I am going to be painting BMC on them

it's no wonder britain rarely produces any world-class road cyclists. There's about 5 inches of snow on my road. how can we compete with the training regimes of people in spain, Italy and America. we have to spend pretty much 3 months of the year on a turbo trainer

I may be getting some Mavic Cosmic Carbone Sl's. I can't see the difference between the Sl and the SLR's so I hink I'll save the money and go with the Sl's.

Is there any nice places to ride at the West Coast of Jutland? Not now, but in April I'm going there. |
