no, you didn't. whether a rider peaks at 100 or 95 or whatever is a matter of luck. you can't just set a form peak and watch him automatically reach 100 form. which is realistic. nobody is in perfect form just because they want to, and about a quarter of the times, a rider who tries to peak at a certain time fails altogether. So despite that, it's still much easier to peak in the game than in real life.

Tour de France - Stage 14
The final flat stage before the alps. It's almost constantly uphill in the last half, not a lot, but definately uphill. Yesterday we took the green jersey from Zabel, we'll be looking to retain that so we will have a go at this stage. Also, a lot of the competition lost time yesterday when the peleton broke in half in the last few km. So we're actually in 4th spot now with just 2 minutes between us and Menchov.
But we have to keep the timetrial in 4 days in our minds. And the fact that Menchov has beaten us is the mountains so far. Back to the stage.
The breakaway quickly broke into small groups today. The front riders have a gap of just under 7 minutes as they cross the 80km mark.
With 30km to go the peleton has almost caught them. Quick Step, Liquigas and Milram have done the work today.
Only Maaskant remains out in front. But with 17 to the line, it doesn't look very likely for him as the storming peleton approaches.
5,7km to the line. Galdos can't go at this pace, and the favorites have started gathering up front. Sanchez puts himself on an AG2R wheel and hangs on!
3000m, everyone is feeling this pace! Gerolsteiner have a large train on the left and Haussler seems to be their bet. The Schleck brother and Voigt are in the middle.
Haussler doesn't hesitate at all. He launches himself forward and everyone else in comparison looks like theyre parked in the middle of the road!
Haussler takes it by a mile. Bettini manages to squeeze out Elmiger for 2nd.
Zabel is next to Sanchez so we keep our green jersey today.

It is, but i've generally found that if you watch their racedays you can get them to peak quite as planned if they don't fatigue. And his peak is coming

It looks like that peak is perfectly planed. Heres hoping that Menchov is past his peak. I really think a podium is within Sanchez grasp. And with some points on the nex mountain stages why shouldn't he take green also.
Your sponsors will be thrilled! |

Tour de France - Stage 15
A mountainstage today, first of the Alps. It's not the toughest stage though, the finishing climb is not very long and not all that steep in the end. Sanchez should be up there today.
A few small breaks have gone out today. Here we are going up the Col d'Agnel, 21km to the top and Caisse and Lotto are stting the pace.
The breakaway is nearing the top, but the lead is allready dropping.
1.6km to the top for the peleton. Mauricio Soler and Andy Schleck go on the attack!
They get a good gap, on the downhill the peleton is still fairly large though because of the relatively low speed on the climb and we've no doubt they will be reeled in.
Onto the flat with 68km to go. They will definately be caught by the peleton, it's simply too long for them to hold out.
And with 46km to go it's over for Schleck and Soler. Their little adventure will probably rule them out of the ffinish today!
23km. Moreau, Moncoutie and Pereiro attempt it with just a few km before the climb starts. We opt to sit with Evans for now.
And here is the final climb. Sanchez is getting ready at the front.
With 7,2km to the line it's all square. Something is bound to happen soon, Sanchez eats his gel and gets ready.
4,2km to go and Sanchez follows Kichen, Frank Schleck is the only one to react!
Sanchez goes full power but with 1500m to go the top3 comes flying by. They settle down right in front of him but they're keeping a high pace. Kirchen has been dropped and is a few lengths behind Sanchez as this point.
600m to go! Evans has the lead over Leipheimer and Menchov, Sanchez is in 4th while Kicrhen is 10m behind him in 5th!
And Evans takes it! That's 2 of 2 mountainfinishes for Evans. Sanchez will lose a little time to the trio, but take a little time on everyone else.

why was asterloza suddenly in A1? He had a good day so you could have done also something with him, maybe an early escape on the last mountain. |

Nice going Mads, if you keep this steady you'll get 4th overall and the green jersey!
In the sprints i advise you to have Samuel sit on Zabel's wheel; this means he wont lose much points to him and it's a bit odd the way you normally just ride high effort from 5km out then sprint all on your own. Use some wheels.
Will there be anymore stages today? |
