Hoogerland is not a grand tour rider, maybe in Vuelta, where the field is usually tired/thinned out/less good. But not a real one.
Poels is a good climber but very inconsistent and he needs to learn how to peak, he was better in february/march then he is now. We'll see.
I'd say Gesink, Mollema, Kruijswijk, and then one of the following: Slagter, Keldermand, Poels, Ruijgh, Dekker, all with question marks. Probably by this time next year another GC talent will have revealed himself A year ago I never thought Kruijswijk would be this good.
In fact, Kruijswijk was a pretty anonymous rider even in the U23 category. Not a star, just a good rider, better than average, but nothing special. Didn't even win a thing and was far from the best uphill by then. He made tremendous progress since he became a professional.
It also shows that some rider fair better with the 'way of riding' as professional compared to the U23 category, where there are more attacks and there is less control.

Unfortunately Soler is obviously more injured than first thought and is in coma now.
First diagnose "skull fracture with brain injury, a broken ankle and an additional pulmonary complications".
This doesn`t sound good at all.
Still unknown how the crash happened. Some articles are talking about spectators, others deny this.

Yea doesn't good. Is it a medical induced coma? Thats a big difference with a 'normal' coma.

It doesn`t say more about the coma.
Just that the race docs found him unconsciously on the ground directly after the crash bleeding out of an ear. |

I wonder if he'll have luck enough to make a complete season without risking his life at least once...
I was already so happy thinking of him being a great contender for TdF GC...
@ Stijn: it seems to be an induced coma refering to what I read. |

Phew! It feels a lot better after hearing that. Poor Soler.

I hope he makes a full recovery, I really like Soler. Loved watching him when he was in the KOM jersey in 2007 TDF.

According to Velonews, it was a Fractured Skull, blood on the brain, a Fractured Ankle, breathing difficulties and fluid in the lungs. Full article here:

I never name that because that championship is always dominated by Rabo TT3 without any competition. They can pretty much pick the winner by the way you can in PCM nat champs with few competitors |

Leipheimer has a big chance to go on and win, with the time trial on the last stage if eh can stay with Cunego tomorowm.
How can Andy Schleck hope to beat Contador in the Tdf in two weeks if he comes 57 in a mountain stage in the tour de suisse? |

Andy was often very "weak" in all races but the Ardennes and the Tour. No motivation??
So I am quite sure that teh 57th has nothing to do with his bad form or missing skills.
He will be in top form at the Tour for sure. |

That's what he always does. He did slightly better in last year's Tour de Suisse, but in general, he tends only to be in form for two races in a season. |

He worked very hard during the stage, he was exhausted. Besides, Andy doesn't care about any races that aren't Tour or Liège, as mentioned many times. |

Levi displayed great climbing today. I really hope he didn't peak too early. |
