Not their fault. The decision was taken by the UCI. |

Good news in my opinion. I hoped for this news as soon as I have seen the first pictures of this descent.
The decision was taken by the Giro jury I think. The team directors and the UCI just put a lot of pressure on them.

Too bad. I was really looking forward to it, but I understand that they wanted to remove it.

That was really no surprise, and probably a smart decision too. Hopefully Crostis is on the route next year though, with the finishing line on the top of it. |

Damn..but still Zoncolan is hard enough. You can not avoid that climb UCI.
Monte Crostis decending had been slowest what riders have taken ever...

The Giro jury is a UCI jury for all what matters though. They're not Italian neither have any relation with RCS. Zomegnan just said that Crostis was perfectly safe.

I'm really gutted for this, but the idea of a Zoncolan -> Crostis route isn't bad either. But I'm afraid there's not room enough at the top to host a finish there. |

The removal of Crostis is a relief for the riders, and even for me. I was still a bit worried if someone tried downhilling crazily. Hopefuly the stage will still be exciting. |

Even if he hadn't died, I think some mesures would have been taken to the descent. Even before the Giro everyone took their conclusions of its danger. |

I have no problem understanding why they removed the descent, allthough I do think it's a bit of a pity. I highly doubt any riders would have gone down there full barrels, guns blazing.
If you go down like a madman, you go off like a madman. |

First they arrange all those safety measures and then one day before the stage it's decided to exclude the climb.
Disappointing.

The Crostis was going to be bad enough in the dry. I wonder if the prospect of more rain like today is what got the organisers to finally reconsider?
