You already said that. And NO!!! IF was an extra 25m Davis would have got him.
That's stupid to say. That just provs that Davis should time his sprints better
Well in terms of acceleration it means he was sprinting faster, thus Hushovd wasn't going that fast at all. Still he did time it well and was in a good position.
Positioning and timing is 70% a sprint dough, agree?

The problem you seem to be having is that this can't be classified as a whole peloton sprint as the biggest sprinters weren't there.
If they were, the result would be different.

Not sure if its quite that much but it plays a big part. I missed all but the last 3km what happened the rest of the stage? |

Slow racing until 50km left, then Katusha was riding hard and kept the pace until the top of the climb at the end. Pozzato and Gilbert tried to get away in the downhill, but got caught. Then Cervelo took charge, but was unable to keep the speed to high. The attacks where many, but none succeded. Then Hushovd took the sprint after Omega had a lead-out for Gilbert.

When you say something like that, I don't like to be a norwegian. I get embarrassed when you can say something like that.

His acceleration is just as good as it was in Tour de France. Perhaps slightly better.

Good sprint by Hushovd
I love Thor, but single-handedly (with help from other Norwegian teenagers) you have managed to annoy every member on PCMDaily so much that he starts to dislike Norwegians and Norwegian riders. You're just making things worse by acting like you don't think objective and reasonable.

Bennati got a good sprint so whats the problem
Bennati sucks in a normal bunch sprint, Davis as well. Hushovd can beat guys like those, no one has ever had a doubt about that.

Nice that you are happy, but you immediatly say that Hushovd is a topsprinter(in other words). He simply isn't (anymore).
He beats Bennati and Davis who haven't shown any good sprint this year. Stages like this are perfect for him: a hard parcours suits him perfectly, but when the better sprinters are in the peloton he won't win.
So the asshole who wants to be a wiseass is you, norspeed.

We don't hate Hushovd. We hate obnoxious fans.
The "Hagen will be the best rider in the world", "Hagen will be a top sprinter", "Hagen will do top 5 at the Tour", etc. etc. etc. was far worse and far more obnoxious and at no point did we hate Hagen.
When fans are obnoxious, we hate the fans themselves.

I'm sure God of Thunder knows that he isn't capable of beating Cav or Farrar. That's why he signed to Garmin as Farrars team-mate. He knows he isn't fast enough. Thor even said in an interview that he doesn't mind help Farrar winning...
But he'll have a very strong northern classics team around him at Garmin. At classics a 20 man sprint is frequent, so Hushovd can benefit from his top-end speed. I think this is his focus. He has said he wants to win Roubaix. Doubt that if Cancellara isn't injured, but this is what Thor himself wants.
Edit: I'm not a Norwegian teenager

Why on earth are we having this discussion yet again? Thor is not as fast as he once was. It is not really that sensational. It is a natural consequence of his age.
The win today was still a great one and well deserved. Who cares whether he is a top sprinter or not. He still finds ways to win races.

This goes on because Norspeed insist that Hushovd is better than he really is. |

Where did everybody forget their ignore function? It's the same every other day, just let him go. If you look at his age you'll see he'll be of to bed soon anyway |

It would be a lot better if we had an actual ignore button on the forum though...

Good sprint by Hushovd

It's a huge difference between coming with a unreasonable comment like: "Hushovd is faster then Cav, he is the best in the world etc." and discussion on how fast he really is and so on. And im reffering to the discussion i've been having with all of you in the past And my point is that because of his injury(bla bla, y'all know the words) you should not judge him because of his TDF sprints.
But for god sake, it most be allowed to "celebrate" a win without being stampled as a "fanboy"?
