EDIT: My startlist idea would not work, as it is only for a one race thing. However I did find an interesting table, which decide what races the riders are favourit for. If you experienced this problem after all the old favourites retired, this could be why, since the game might classify them wrongly, so if they are favourits for the Giro, Vuelta and Tour, they will not participate in cobbles, since they are not favourites. Not sure if this is it, but if you got your save game and are willing to upload it I would be able to fiddle around with it in the editor and give some suggestions to what might work, so you can test it out Unfortunatly I do not own PCM 2007 myself, so you will have to do the practical testing.
It could be done easily, if you give me a copy just before the Gent Wevelgern, which I believe is the first cobble? If nothing else and the tables are about the same in 2008 as in 2007, I could make another rider profile or edit an existing one, which will make the rider favourite for the 3 cobbles and perhaps that might force them to participate. It is purely theoretical and a guessing game, but it might be worth a shot.

What is strange is all of the cobblestone favorites show up to all of the cobblestone races right up to the start of April. In April, for some reason, they suddenly stop showing up. Same goes for the hilly classics.
Thanks. Will let you know when I get to the first UCI Tour cobblestone race. |

True, it is weird. But as it is setup, there are different numbers for each type of rider. For instance puncheurs could be 1 and the list of races they are favorits for are the big hilly races. My theory is the new cobble guys get a wrong number, so old cobble guys have 5 and the new cobble guys 6. But unfortunatly it will not explain why it suddenly occurs. Although I would still try and look through it to see if I can find some sort of abnormality that could cause this. |

Vuelta a Castilla y Leon
Stage 3
Stage 3 is usually a TTT which is perfect for my team. Unfortunately, the game kept crashing when I tried to move forward to the day of stage 3. Therefore, had to use Hannes Converter to move past the day which resulted in stage 3 getting skipped. |

Vuelta a Castilla y Leon
Stage 4: La Alberca - Estacion de Esqui de la Covatilla
Nice mountain stage today. Mariani attacked up the final climb with three others. The 3 finished with a gap to the chasers while Mariani struggled and ended up being given the same time as the chase group.
Redondo showed good form in winning the stage.

Vuelta a Castilla y Leon
Stage 5: Avila - Avila
Blanked out and forgot to get a shot of the finish. In any case, it was a fast pace through the mountains. On the last climb, a lot of attacks including by us but nobody could get away. The pace dropped all but 19 of the heartiest, including Sanchez and Mariani. We lacked the sprinting skills to compete for the stage but the finishing in the top 19 of this stage nabbed us two top 10 finishes for the tour.

I have gotten to the cobblestones and have encountered the same issue as the past two seasons with no cobblestone specialists showing up. Contador entered the races, ffs. Combined with an increasing number of crashes, I think it is time to retire PCM07 and move on to a more recent version.

I would still like to take a peak at it for you, not sure how much I can do. But as long as you start another story in a more recent version I am cool with that really Would hopefully also bring you more viewers (especially 2010!!!), which should now be a pretty decent version, from what I hear (waiting for it to be shipped from the UK).

Maybe if got an solution:
At least it worked for me in the worlds.
You only need hannes converter;
First open the following tables:
-DYN_team
-STA_race
-DYN_cyclist
-DYN_team_race
First choose the team you want to edit and search for its team ID in DYN_team and note the number, then change to STA_race and look for the race you want to edit and note the race ID number.
Next you have to choose the cyclists you want to paticipate ( out of the team you want to edit ), search the rider IDs in DYN_cyclist.
Now the last step, open DYN_team_race, sort by fkIDrace and search for your race ID; there should be approx 22 entries, one for each team in this race,
search your choosen team ID in fkIDteam, in the column gene_ilist_roster are the numbers of the riders the CPU selected, delete them and replace them with the rider IDs you have choosen.
Repeat this with all the teams you want to edit.
Save the Database (you only need the save the edited table DYN_team_race).
And as I said you also can edit Your National Team Rooster for the World Championship with this.
I hope my english is not too bad;
And don`t forget to make an backup of your savegame before editing!

Thanks for the kind words, effort and advice guys. I play games to escape work, etc. If I have to work hard to play the game, then ti is time to change games. Thus, it is time to move on from PCM 07. I'll continue to play FM 10 for a while then maybe move to PCM 10. |
