It seems that no one can stop Fischer taking the win in Britain.

Stage 19
Las Rozas - Segovia.
This stage offered one last taste of the mountains for the 2008 Vuelta before the time trial and the traditional finish in Madrid.
First time was ok..but at the second climb Bennati in trouble..Kucinsky is there to help him out.. But peloton speed is just to much for sprinter.. Here go's point jersey again..
Sastre had at the same moment technical problem..real bad timing. Team comes back to help theyr leader..but this is gonna be long way back there..
It takes 15km. uphil ride ti get back at the front group..amazing ride Sastre..thrue all the riders group who has left behind.
Menchov has atacked on the hilltop..Cobo counters
..on descent Kreuziger atacked he has cought Menchov..also tactic move ..to have strong rider up there when favorites atacking..
Kiryenka, Devolder, Efimkin..Lövkvist and Bruseghin atack.
Evans is after that group..
Contador follows..ok mind game has started..
Basso..after rivals
Lead group? ..They settle down for the moment..Basso, Kreuziger, Contador, Evans, Devolder, Lövkvist, Bruseghin and Efimkin.
,,not for long..Contador launching atack..
Sastre is there (good to see him there after that puncture and hard ride back)...he counters..
after real long atack we have new lead group..Devolder, Evans, Lövkvist and Basso ..looking real good.
..this is impossible for Bruseghin to get into this group alone..
Sastre is chasing Bruseghin
..Contador has calculated wrong..he find himself in terrible situation..main rivals Basso and Evans has escaped with strong flat riders like Devolder and Lövkvist..he is here alone with Efimkin..and gap just keep increase.. He will loose Vuelta today?
..at least something..Contador catches Sastre..
Lead group stil together..and working together..
..sprint..Evans taking the lead (TdF dominator does not have any stage win in Vuelta)..Basso follows..
Basso has passed Evans..Lövkvist follows..Devolder is out..
No celebration and looking over the shoulder..all out and Basso takes any seconds waht is available...
Contador arrives 1.20 later..he has given all away what he was taking at the mountains..
Before last ITT Basso has solid lead (1'30)..there is gonna be fight who will take the second place.
And Sanchez has taken point jersey back..

Nope..Ficher sayed in February that this will be he's last season..
Will be retired has Noe (Simoni has signed to replace him)..and I was talking with some German to replace Fischer..
Anyway about after a week my story ends..and Liquigas 2009 season is over..
I kept most contracts alive, team has already great future riders..and signed few names
Simoni
Zabriskie
(one german sprinter..)

I've had doubts about PCM's 09 DB, and this story just confirms it. Either that, or the difficulty has been badly mis-calculated. Sorry to say this, but it's the truth.

Stage 20
ITT La Granja - Alto de Navacerrada
Who like to improve he's GC standing this would be last chanche..
First time check great time does not mean that you would be there at the end of Alto de Navacerrada climb..Tuft has almost caught Quinziato..at the end 71. (+3'33)..and Quinziato 93. (+3'49)..not that much behind..
Bennati is actualy quite good TT rider..like all power sprinters. Who was after any possible points..to ambition ..he started fast but this climb was to much for him 73. (+3'35). Last chanche will be tomorrow and final Madrid stage..
Cancellara 41. (+2'59)..real weak Vuelta. totaly exausted and tyred rider. Btw. Britain race anounced before tour start that Cancellara will be one of tour stars..they missed that Fabian was already started Vuelta week before.
Valjavec passing Hernandez..he has started to fast at the end of the climb and the day..35. (+2'32)
Brjakovic.. 16. (+1'34)..this guy should change a team..
Gutierrez passing Serrano ..another rider who started to fast 32. (+2'25)
Rogers 11. (+1'17)...he started Vuelta real good..in teh last week Lövkvist has been better..he is man who will end GC top 20..
Gerdemann 18. (+1'45)..without that stupid crash he would been top 10 GC rider.. he was in super form and well prepeared for Vuelta. GC 25.
Gusev 24. (+2'13)..dissapoitment. Katusha started a season has one of top teams in the pack..but middle of the summer all steam was out.. GC 29
Kreuziger..13. (+1 '30)..he's best Vuelta stage..we can say that we did not see this rider real potential in Vuelta..but he has been Basso last support man all 3 weeks..GC 18th. place is not bad result after that.
Larsson 14. (+1'33) ..man who has hold tour lead after first long ITT..and actualy surprised me at the mountains GC 13 th. place..he was ready for Vuelta..
Van den Broeck..12. (+1'29). I would like to call him as Evans own "Kreuziger"..he was controlling a back in hugh mountain stages..he was last man who was around Evans has long has possible GC 16. Great tour..
Devolder 19. (+1 '55)...best Devolder was available in Eneco tour (like Cancellara).. but I liked how in Vuelta he knew the stages where to atack..and try something. Real smart tour rider..GC 14.
Astarloza 6th. (+ 56 sec.) great stage and this will help him inside GC top 10
Lövkvist..15. (+1'34) ..not quite. He was a little to weak when Vuelta started but in third week he was already there 11th. GC place is not bad at all for young man -25. second place.
Klöden 7th. (+1'05)..first time in the "picture"..has we started Vuleta I was speculating that we gonna see strong Astana train at the mountains (like it was in TdF)..but now. Contador atacked always when he saw final mountain (and at the end he was throwing all this away) he did not used team help at all. Wasted potential. Astana will need a better manager for races like this..
Bruseghin..10. (+1'10).. I was geting this wan right. Bruseghin was good..he crashed out of Giro ..did not take TdF and was ready and focused for Vuelta..GC 8th. place.
Menchov 4. (+29 sec.) great stage...before the Vuelta I was ranking Menchov has one of top 5 favorites.he was not bad. But he was always alone..has Conatdor, Evans , Basso and Sastre atacked almost on every stage one ofther another or together. Menchov was trying something else.. and result was that he was alone again.. GC 6th.
Sastre .. 9. (+1'09) I still shocked about he's yesterday come back after technical problem.
He was good ..in great shape. GC 5th. But Vuelta startlist was against him.
Sanchez.5. (+ 45 sec.). biggest surprise for me. I knew that he is great rider..but how he was collecting stage win's at the mountains one after another...to be honest he was nr. 2 climber after Contador...and he still wearing sprinter jersey. GC 4th. is a little unfair result.
Contador..2nd. (+6 sec.)..when we started yesterday he was clearly best Vuelta GC win candidate.. How he climbed at last mountain stages was just to fast for anyone. he has collected several important stage win's on this 2009 season..but has not won any major races. What is wrong? Today strong ride just helped him to pass Evas in the GC ..2nd.
Evans 3rd. (+26 sec.)..and will lost GC 2nd. to Contador.. In Vuelta he has not made any mistake (same type tour as was TdF for him..where he was dominating) but still 3rd. place was he's limit.
Basso and tage win nr 4. he is 6 sec. faster then Contador..and this one is favorite stage win for Basso..nice -close and feels good.
Madrid stage to go.

Great win for Basso though, what a super season for Ivan. Great Vuelta also!

yeah it was. So Guido he will have an another amazing year?
Nope..Ficher sayed in February that this will be he's last season..
Will be retired has Noe (Simoni has signed to replace him)..and I was talking with some German to replace Fischer..
Anyway about after a week my story ends..and Liquigas 2009 season is over..
I kept most contracts alive, team has already great future riders..and signed few names
Simoni
Zabriskie
(one german sprinter.. )
I wasn't talking only about Fischer. What I meant was if you are continuing the story next season too.
Also German sprinter... Ciolek, Greipel?
Oh oh Haussler?

No..no ..they are super stars...Bennati still demanding to be team sprint leader.... Liquigas has talked with Förster..he is more like Chicchi type but who knows.
Probably no for next season (at the moment) |

Stage 21
Madrid
Last stage in Vuelta..parade stage for GC riders..Bennati is there to beat Sanchez in points classification..
Breakaway group...12. riders has escaped..peloton is cahsing..this is short stage..we dont have time to waste.
18km. to go..peloton has caught most of breakaway riders..four guys has atatacked away from breakaway group..
12 to go..and here they are..mass sprint and Bennati has better chanches now..
has classical city circle race ..crash..Mosquera and Fedrigo is down..
elite train..Greipel, Cavedish, Freire, de Larrea..where is Bennati?
he is out of that train..and looking sprint position..risky choice-move
Sprint..David Herrero and Garcia at the front..
Here comes Bennati..Garmin and Contentpolis - Ampo teams planning something..
Final km..Brennati is in perfect position.
..and all out..Benna takes a lead..Vazguez trying to pass..
yes..stage win nr. 3 for Bennati..where is Sanchez?
he even did not sprint..that means Bennati will take point jersey third time..and this is final now.
Man who will hold climber jersey.. Pineau. I remeber that totaly wasted breakaway rider in the last climb..in that day he was taken all mountain top finshes and collected enough points to close this table.
Best young rider Contador..he is beating second man on this competition over a 10 min. ..but he is not happy man..he was there to win something else..
well..2 GT win..UCI table lead..perfect season. Now has he is in great shape he will be out in Worlds..in Swizerland
