Stop defending him, forget that he's Dutch, look at the video, he takes his hand, and THROWS him into the barriers. He may have been trying to avoid crashing, and it may not have been malicious, but its still horrible and he deserves to be fined at least, maybe suspended (if thats possible).
I just read one of the comments on the youtube video...

It is a shame that 'non-sprinters' try to win this stage. They make the sprint very very dangerous!
You can't blaim Bos. Bos is a totally fair pure sprinter! Have you ever seen Bos made this kind of manouvres on the track? Bos did it because Impey pushed him against the barierres! Bos tried to move him away, but Impey reacts the wrong way!

Just read the entire comments section most of the comments are like that and they all got a bunch of thumbs up. The ones saying anything bad about Theo Bos got a bunch of thumbs down
Bos' fault? Clearly yes, I dont see how anybody could say the he was not to blame for it
Did he do it malicously/on purpose? I cant see why any sane person would do such a thing, so probably not.
I just hope Impey is ok and is able to make a swift recovery.
Oh and Ruben, it hardly adds credibility to your argument if you call everyone idiots and try to end the conversation. Plus, I make it a 50% chance that you will now come back and say that your post was 'obviously' sarcasm.

I think he did it, because he wanted to survive himself. Maybe he thought, if he could throw Impey into the barriers, he could avoid a crash of himself by turning onto the right side of Impey, which would've been easier, if Impey is down.
Disgusting. Shocking. Give him a lifetime ban!
I find it hard to believe that was on purpose, though it can look that way from the picture. Reasonable thinking gives no explanation why Bos would do that on purpose. He had to go down himself (high speed into the fence, who wants that??) - and there was really nothing to win. If it was about stopping Impey it should have been done some time earlier to have any effect...
So really can't understand why it should be of purpose. TV-pictures looks bad, but we might not see the whole picture. I hope not...
I get the argument that nobody in his complete mental capacities would do anything to hurt a fellow athlete with such violence but in my perspective it doesnt matter at all what were his intentions in this case!
The outcome of the situation was completely Bos responsability and so he should be punished (a ban of the double of time Impey will be out for recovering would be my sentence)
I don't believe Theo Bos is a Roy Keane but hell screwing another rider in the way he did and getting away unpunished doesnt seem fair to me!
I was waching this crash over and over..this was race situation (he did not had no where to go)..but Bos reaction (reflect) when he had nothing more to do was odd..kind of natural he has nothing to grab..pure instinct.
No life time ban or something else..but he need to say ..this was my pure mistake sry..

Yes it's his fault, but he didn't throw Impey into the barriers. That;s my point.
Anybody claiming that, is in my point a blithering idiot.
But he doesn't grab Impey's shirt in purpose to bring him down. Bos is about to crash and as a pure instict, as Guido said, he is trying to use his hands to avoid that. The crash looks violent only because they had a high speed there.
Watching it frame by frame, you see that Bos initally pushes Impey from behind, but then he does move up and grab onto his jersey sleeve and yank him across. And it's not a grab and fall, it really is a pull/push into the barriers. Watch Bos's arm: there is definitely a straightening of the arm which really does make it look as though he's done it intentionally.
Given the speed of the incident and the pure question as to why anybody would want to do such a thing, you've got to give Bos the absolute benefit of the doubt, just make sure he apologises and get on with it

No..I'm still stick with instinct story...If you fall..in that speed..you wont do this like Saddam statue in Bagdad..you will use your arms to protect and grab what ever you had at front of you

Well in your mind, everyone who would ever think of disagreeing with you on any given subject is an idiot. Because, fact is... Ruben is always right, and never moves an inch!

Do you want me to show you to the door?
I don't know why you keep coming back to the forum if we are all idiots like you said. I'm guessing you like idiots (must be your own personal fetiche).
90% of the people here who's posts I remember don't say that he did it on purpose, they say he pushed Impey against the barriers. And that's a fact, not opinion.
What really pisses me off is that if it was the other way arround you would be demanding Impey's head on a stick, but since it was Bos it was simplay a race accident. Yeah sure...
Take a time out, relax, let go of your blatant pro-dutch bias and then come back when you want to discuss something without resorting to insults like you always do instead of providing arguments that don't beat around the bush.
