I disagree, Rin. They have 3-4 players, who play as starters in one of Euope's major leagues (Kagawa, Honda, Nagatomo) the rest play as reserves in the big leagues or in their native league.
No, Several of them are high profile players in the Bundesliga which is the most popular destination for Japanese players in football outside of Japan and the GK plays for Anderlecht I believe in Belgium and I believe he is the starter there.
There are only about 4 or 5 players in Japans starting 11 from Japan and all of them are quite good in their own right, plus the J - League is actually a pretty good quality.
The problem for Japan is that they have weak Center backs, a crazy goalie and no real threat at striker, since Okazaki is played out of position. Kakitani is young, Osako is neither very fast, nor very tall and the same can be said for pretty much all of Japans strikers atm.
Japan also failed to use their pace yesterday and their strong midfield never seemed to hold possession long enough.
As far as I know, one of them is in the starting Xi, the rest are benchwarmers
Then you dont know as much as me...
Kawashima (GK) 27 starts for Standard Liege
Uchida voted to Bundesliga's Team of the Season 72% of the votes for RB, also rumoured to Arsenal
G. Sakai played 32 times for Stuttgart this year
H. Sakai consistently plays 90mins for Hannover
Yoshida had worked his way into the Southampton squad before he was injured and ruled out for the rest of the season if I recall. He made 8 or 9 straight starts and played the full match in all of them.
Nagatomo started 32 matches for Inter
Hasebe was a regular starter for Nurnberg but injured his knee in January and missed most of the remaining season and there were doubts he'd be ready for the world cup
Okazaki with 31 starts for Mainz and 15 goals as well
Honda started 30 times last season for both CSKA Moskva and Milan
Kagawa started 20 matches for United last year, 6 in the CL in a year where he really should have played more, but David Moyes happened.
Yuya Osako moved to Europe in January and started 15 times for his new 2. Bundesliga team was well as scoring 6 times.
Kakitani's signature is being fought over by Arsenal, Galatasaray and Inter
Kiyotake started 32 times for Nurnberg last year
the rest are all stars in the J-League which is probably Top 15 in terms of quality in the world.
the majority of those in the national team and in europe are regular starters for their team. I really dont know where you are getting this "only one of them is in the starting Xi, the rest are benchwarmers "
Sorry mate, but I said major league, not belgian league But you proved me wrong, sorry

Quite good first half from Bosnians! Apart that unlucky own goal, that was well-played. They had pretty bad Argentina on another side, but that's a whole different story.
I am happy! Hopefully, "we" will score in next 45 minutes!

Yes. They're playing against the team that played better in first half and that was a bit unlucky.

you're probably both right, I really don't pay attention to who's playing better. hopefully Bosnia can counter and make the equalizer because unless Argentina has a Xavi and Iniesta clone on the bench, Messi ain't doing anything

One great game that was. Now just imagine what would happen if Kolasinac didn't score that own-goal. I think Bosnia has even bigger chances to finish as 2nd in that group now.
I'm not happy as it could've been a draw easily (which would be more than awesome), but still one very solid result for Bosnia in their first ever WC match!

Argentina much better in the second half. Good changes at half time by the manager. |

Call me optimistic, but Bosnia will make the semis. Meanwhile, goal line technology broadcast system being reviewed by FIFA to avoid 'NO GOAL' then 'GOAL' going up on the big screen consecutively- personally, I thought it was quite clever.

So we have the starting 11 for both sides. No surprises:
Germany - Neuer; Boateng, Mertesacker, Hummels, Howedes; Lahm, Khedira, Kroos, Ozil, Gotze; Muller
Portugal - Rui PatrÃcio; João Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves, Fábio Coentrão; Veloso, Meireles, Moutinho; Nani, Ronaldo, Hugo Almeida
Uff uff |

Is it my lack of knowledge or is it Germany that plays with 4 CBs?
