I won't discount Rodriguez yet. He usually sucks at the first mountain stage in the GT's he races. Just look at this:
Tour 2010, Avoriaz - lost contact with the favourite group, while riders like Sastre and Rogers were still in it. Lost 35 seconds to Andy Schleck.
Vuelta 2010, Andorra - Blew up while trying to follow Mosquera and Nibali. Ended up losing a minute to Anton.
Giro 2011, Etna - Lost contact early and finished 26th, 2'30 behind Contador.
Vuelta 2011, Covatilla - In trouble as soon as the attacks starts. Loses a minute to Dan Martin.
After all of these fails, he has recovered and been really good in the last week. Unfortunately for him, the last week here isn't extremely hard.

His biggest problem is still a ITT, where he will loose again his hopes for some great result, same song every year.

You mean specifically in Ireland. They are here.
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

US Open starts today. British Eurosport gives it priority, while International Eurosport shows the Vuelta prior to switching over to US Open. |

Cancellara finshed the course 57:21. 6 seconds faster than Phinney.
Martin just beat the first time on 1st checkpoint, only 6.5km in the race by massive +42 seconds.

Actually according to the official site the first check point is at 13.3km not 6.5. Still 42 seconds is impressive and at the second check point he is already 1 minute and 12 seconds better than Cancellara.

At the 30km-mark Martin has 1:12 advantage over Cancellara, i can´t see him loosing that much on 17km.

Especially since it's downhill too. Guess Martin for stage and loads of work to do for Cancellara before the worlds.

What a strong TT by Martin. Looks like we'll have an interesting Worlds ITT.

Isn't Cancellara focusing mostly on the road race this year? |

Martin just finished 1:33 faster than Cancellara. That should be the stage win for him, i doubt Wiggins can beat that time today.
