To avoid a crash he sacrificed Impey. Sure, he's a great guy

Bos is a jerk, he should be life banned for this; I never saw such a throw in cycling. Impey could have been dead now |

Sorry but he could have let Impey crash himself if thats what was going to happen...
Why help him with a nice bit of force?

I'd laugh if it wasn't such a serious situation.

I've looked at the replay a couple of times now, and it looks like Bos is coming up too fast to the left of Impey where it isn't much room. His handlebar seem to move quite much as he grabs Impey, thus implying that he is loosing control of his bike. I know that it very much looks like he completely throws Impey in the fence but that could also be the effect of him trying to hold his balance.
Really damn stupid to grab him though and he should be fined anyway.

On my view, Bos is a track sprinter. He is used to muscling people out of the way, with track you also get a rather inflated ego and bos had this. What he did was purely and simply wrong, if it was a nervous reaction then it was an accident but it looked too "forceful" to me and he should receive a fine. Not a suspension. |

Ruben and Mattias are right; it's not how it looks.
Bos is coming up too fast, and there's no space. He's right by the barriers with sticking out feet, and is losing balance. And think about it; why would he do it when he knows he'd go down hard too?
Grabbing Impey is an extreme and strange reaction though..

In the middle of a peloton, he's coming too fast? You're saying that in the middle of a few dozen riders, he suddenly accelerated? |

Not much, but he obiviously moves up the field on the left.

Clearly Bos is moving up the inside, as any sprinter would do. The rider to the right of Impey happens to be moving from right to left across Impey as well. Bos realises there is no space on the left to move up, and is likely to be muscled into the barriers. He goes to push Impeys shoulder and muscle him into the bunch, but Impey is holding his line as he can't move right due to an ass cheek being next to his right shoulder. As Bos starts to hit/veer into the barrier's legs, he panics, and tries to keep balance on Impey, and as he crashes, somehow or other thinks its a good idea/impulse to hold onto Impey. Dragging him/throwing him into the barriers. Why he holds on, I don't know, but I don't think it was malicious, just a massive panic from a guy not designed, or meant, to be riding in a massive pack of ROAD cyclists. It's like putting a fit 4th cat rider in with a bunch of elites, carnage ensues as they weave and wobble across the road.
Bos should go back to track (this sentance is my anti-dutch bias speaking).

Counting youth categories, Bos has more road than track experience, so....no, the "he's a trackie" doesn't fly with me. |

Why would Bos throw off Impey? Think people. It doesn't make sense. What I saw from the video, he wanted to push Impey away as he was crashing into the barries, but by doing so, they both crashed, and therefore it LOOKED like he was pulling Impey. But he wasn't, that makes no sense, when you do that you know you are going to fall at 60km/h as well. Bos would never want to fall on purpose or save himself by pulling another sprinter. The video is very misleading, try watching it frame for frame and zoomed in like I did. Then you will see... |
