Who do you think is a better tt-ist Nibbles or Bertie. I'm asking cause I don't know what to expect from Contador after basque country tt and the Italian is a strong tt-ist anyway.
Contador is some what better on TT but you can never tell for sure when the other rider is in yellow. |

Lost some respect for TVG in that interview. The tour should reward the best all around rider not just the guy who can climb and TT the best.
What he said?? |

Guys who write off Bertie..... it's only stage 5 calm down.
Bertie is so skinny like never before. No wonder he has suffered in the rain on such a tough pave stage. He'll bounce back once the sun shines and the gradient rises.

Hahaha... yeah, a flat cbs stage decides over who is a GC favourite and who not. In that case, I'll put a bet on Sagan winning all 4 jerseys next year... or maybe this year already?
Ehmm, do you have any idea of who Nibali is? Nibali is together with Contador the absolute top of climbers.
So do please show me how Contador will be able to get those minutes back when he has to go up against someone who can probably even beat him on a mountain finish. |

Just like today was tailormade for the cobble specialists.... and yet Nibali and Fuglsang put 1min into everyone but Boom.
Not sure if serious.
The cobbles were not that hard the weather played a bigger role in this stage especially with the length. Astana has a strong team, rode smart, add in some luck and they performed amazing this stage.
comparing that to stage 16 is crazy. |

@Nin: But he had no motivation to ride in Tirreno and afterwards he did well in Dauphine. Also, stage 20 doesn't look very flat. That's why I am wondering. |

So in the end, apart from Nibali and Kwiatek, all the favourites are still within 52 seconds from each other. It was just Nibali being ridiculously better than the other contenders today. |

Think you have to count Fuglsang in after the first 5 days as well who definetely was the stronger of the 2. |

So Contador lost time to everyone and has probably weakest climbing team. He will need Quintana type of day to win.
But I think he is best climber now that Froome is gone.
Yeah, Roche, Rogers, Paulinho and Hernandez are shite
Seriously, go troll somewhere else.
Ya the 15+ mins Hernandez was after the GC before today was just a lie right.
This is a repeat of last year and it just proves that Contador is finished as a GC favorite.
You probably forget the 2010 Tour de France. Conta lost almost 1:30 on the cobble stage there and people said Andy had the Tour in the bag. I then remember someone other than Andy winning that Tour.

I don't have to show you anything. Contador will show you enough once the mountains starts. I also very much know who Vincenzo Nibali is. You on the other hand seem to have no idea who Alberto Contador is. You know, he is currently the most successful active Grand Tour rider in the bunch.
I said a couple of posts above, he is super skinny this year and no wonder he suffered in the rain more than other riders.
You said he is finished as a GC favourite, basically for good. Not just in this Tour de France because of 2'30 gap, but overall, that he is finished as a GC rider...
This is a repeat of last year and it just proves that Contador is finished as a GC favorite.
This is just the same stuff people said last year. Then Bertie came back and won multiple stage races this year already. Indulge me, how does a cobblestage prove your point when all other results this year say the excatly the opposite: That Contador is far from being a worn out GC favourite, but still is the best climber in the bunch.
He is also within reach to most guys and can distance them on any mountain any day of the week. And Nibali has still to prove that his form is viable for the mountains too because Bertie dropped him hard in Dauphine fyi. All you say is that Bertie is done before stage 5, which is the same pestering overdramatization we have to deal in any sport discussion so oftentimes, from football to cycling or whatever, and it's getting boring.

Odds for todays stage on Daily.
Why wouldn't I be serious. Now you are making all these excuses about why Nibali did well, so why say a later stage has his name written all over it, when numerous other things could happen on that stage, just like today against the "consensus favourite"

Well this was fucking awesome! Well deserved aswell, he was the strongest together with the fucking beast that is Vanmarcke! Too bad he got a flat.
Nibali very strong aswell, nice time gain for him, though I don't like him too much you have to be fair: he had no bad luck and was definitely the strongest of the GC men. |

Lars Johannes Antonius Boom!! Thanks for releasing us from a 9 year long draught in tdf stage victories
Also amazing Lieuwe Westra... did a fantastic job for Nibali, who is know 2 minutes ahead of everyone.
Contador will have a mammoth of a job winning the Tour now.
Sad that Froome didn't make it. It would be interesting to see if he was 3/4 minutes behind and make war in the mountains.
The Vuelta will have an awesome line up now with Quintana, Rodriguez, Froome, Valverde, Kelderman, etc |

Contador's team is such a bad team imo! Westra was all alone riding against the likes of Tinkoff and also Valverde's team. Still they only lost time. Seems to me they are not as strong as everyone thought they were. |
