The stage suits Arredondo perfectly, so I am really hoping he'll win it.

Considering the nature of this stage I can't see it, it's too easy. It's 240km of flat ridden at gentle tempo due to the weak break and then uphill sprint. This stage is not Ardennes where you have to fight for position at all times which takes out a lot from riders.
Anyway, he's the favoruite, but I'd be rather impressive if he does the double, there's a bunch of riders that can win today.
Soory Alak, but where you there and saw the climb? If they will take the road i think about (there i no other way), it is much much more than just an "uphill sprint".
Stage is very long and riders could be nervous, i would be surprised to see more than 10-20 riders coming together to the finish, with i think Ulissi missing...

So far, from everyone's cycling previews on many sites and opinions it's a steady climb that suits likes of Ulissi. I don't know how many will be at the finish, but so far likes of Ullissi and other good finishers are the favoruties. From the stats about the climb, maybe for you it's tough as it would for other casual bikers, for pros it's nothing other than a normal climb.
If it turns out otherwise, then happy to be proven wrong. I hope it does as it'd be great to see a nice selection of truly GC favoruites going for it.

I suspect the benefit of drafting will be too great at 5% and it'll be a group of 20 involved in the flatter sprint to the line but of course very hard to be sure... |

Totally confused Giro app saying 12 minutes few other sources a few seconds :/ Think they are using the wrong notation for minutes " = seconds people ' = minutes |

I'm quite happy to see Kruijswijk hanging on to the lead group. It would be great if he could reach his 2011 form again.
I agree, I miss those days... He was a top 10 GC rider in the Giro back then. Still he was barely hanging on, then again, he is better in the real mountain work.
doesnt say anything, if you actually remember 2011, he lost time in similar hilly stage finishes, and even sucked in the 1st mountain stage.
Kruijswijk is a 3rd week rider and really more of a climber, he sucks at the explosive stuff |

All that work for the intermediate sprint that still had a point or two left and then Bardiani come over the top of all the bigger teams\sprinters and nick it from everyone. Good trolling there Ruffoni.

Does it look like anyone is actually willing to chase with the gap growing? I'm only watching the official live timing site. |
