Jakstar22 - Thanks
sutty68 - I expect quite some victories this season. Though with Zabel gone we'll need those replacements. Durbridge will wear that jersey one day
Matthew21rp - Sure hope so!
Shonak - Oh yeah, Tour de France will be an exciting time. Hope to compete in the French National Jersey! |

Nice looking schedule, and be sure to stay well away from Rolland/Pinot/Bardet, i heard poison is high on their list. And if they're real desperate, they might even go for Becca. ()

Wedding Planners - Part I "Henry?"
I was reading the newspaper in the couch. It was a rest day in my training schedule. Well, rest... ME and Becca had some workout of our own. But that's another story.
"Yeah?"
"Are we gonna move the rest of my stuff today?"
Oh, right. Since I proposed to her, we decided to move in together (again). She's put her house up for sale. And her pet snake... Well, that's another story.
Moving day - part MCIX? It felt like that, but we didn't mind. We were at a very happy time. Planning the wedding was actually a lot more fun than I thought it'd be. Every time we moved an item from her house to mine, we had to come up with a new idea for the wedding, just a little game we played.
By the time I had to leave for Australia, we had a lot decided, but we had forgotten one important question.
Not an easy question for a cyclist.
She fired it at me.
"When, exactly, are we getting married?"
Tour Down Under - Part I
Stage 1 First race of the season. I was so motivated, but during the race I had real heavy legs. No panic, only day 1.
Matthew Goss won in his first race in his National Jersey. What a sprint.
Stage 2 Quite hilly.
The peloton stayed together very well. I decided to really test my legs for the first time this season.
And then it became obvious; I'm not 100% yet, I'm not even 95%. I'm couldn't hold the effort for even a kilometer.
Luckily it was near the finish. I slipstreamed to a nice top 10, but it was no good race.
Stage 3 Another possible mass sprint.
I seem to be getting worse by the day. I'm not recuperating well and I was even having problems hanging on into the peloton.
The sprint was a close one, with Kristoff sprinting to a 5th place.

Analysis & Daily Thoughts Well, I haven't lost any time so far, but my form is close to dramatic. I made a huge mistake in trying to attack when I didn't feel so good.
The two following stages are both for the punchers...
Last year I was much stronger at this stage, I wonder what I did wrong. Maybe I overtrained at the team camp.
We'll have to see, tomorrow for starters.

Maybe he overtrained - or maybe he just ate too many example cakes for the wedding.

You wouldn't dare sabotage his Tour ambitions for a second time, would you?
After all you're not TMM.
And i'm sure Henry's form will pick up as the race progresses.

Shonak - Well, the cake and the wedding night are the two things he and Becca have been preparing and rehearsing over and over
sutty68 - Not every year is the same, Henry's getting to learn that...
Dippofix - No, I'm not TMM however, I am the guy that killed his main protagonist in A Tale of Two, so you can expect just about anything |

The team doctor has also diagnosed me and I'm on some (minor) medication. I should be back in action for the Tour of Oman!

Atlantius - Yeah, the field was quite impressive...
sutty68 - Nah, the team doctor is smarter than that
Dippofix - Sagan planning to dominate from start to finish, I guess...
anderspcm - Things will pick up. You can't always be 100% as a cyclist. There are good months, bad months, good years, bad years...
duxili - well, I don't see how rehearsing the wedding night couldn't be fun and if you worry now, at least you know Henry doesn't take testosterone as doping, he wouldn't like planning a wedding then
Jakstar22 - Certainly hope so, thanks!
Thanks for following and commenting!
What follows now is a small break. I'm not quite sure how long, could be just a couple days, could be a bit longer. Three reasons, which I'm happy to give you:
1. All my work for school I've been neglecting is catching up to me. Need a few days focused.
2. Have to work a bit on the Writer's Block special after the awards.
3. Need to recover from the slap in the face that the awards turned out to be for me.
I'll be back when I:
1. Have the time
2. Find the proper motivation
3. Conquer the world (optional)
Spoiler I know 95% of all stories going on a break never return at all, but that's not the case here. I don't even think it'll be more than a week. I guarantee that (unless me or my computer dies) this will continue far into the future

Take your time. The Ultimate GT Showdown had two big breaks along the way but still was finished, so it certainly is possible to come back - and I hope you will as this is one of my favourites of teh site at the moment!

@dippo - what the hell! I wasn't that mean to Karl, i at least let him get into a winning position first before i took it all away
@ian - Havn't read it all yet but drop in and out over time. Going really well and looks very nice, clearly a lot of effort going into it and it does show through. Still waiting to get into Henry as a person, but that's me not being a regular reader. It was always a comment i used to make that you don't personalize the characters but you've certainly seemed to address that this time around.
Taking an update break to focus on work is no bad thing, equally doing the Awards special isn't bad either. One is important and the other might generate some new interest in writing to beat them all next time around.
And hell Karl has had numerous sizable breaks in it's time, as had Puccio and La Pomme amongst others. Once a story reaches a certain point (roughly a full season) breaks are no longer a death sentence. So i expect to see this up and running again very soon
