UCPCL World Tour - Cobbles and Catalunya Lists
baggieboys32
and a great second for Kloden! It was a weird stage tbh, I always expected Purito to win it, but for 2 75hill guys getting 2nd and 3rd on the podium ahead of some top Punchers, odd.

Great report! Rodriguez was invisible all the race, but when needed, he made his best move Banana

Hmm, not entirely happy with that result, Gilbert and De Gendt could have cooperated better I think.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

1 minute lost. LOL PCM.

Purito was the absolute favourite to me.
Voeckler and Schleck hung on for 2 nice Top 10 spot.

And I love the rankings! Banana

Sagan could win Paris Nice, he is only 22 seconds behind, and there are no more mountain stages that plus the time bonuses

180km, Hills, 7 Degrees, Rainy patches. Todays recipe sounds thoroughly unpleasant, and we're expecting rain at the finish line. The final descent has potential to be treacherous, and the day will certainly prove a hard one for the riders.

Before we went live..

So far in this race, the breaks have been used as a tool for the classics men to test there legs ahead of the Cobbles which are on there way. This morning was no different with both S.Love(TAP) and Devolder(Lierse) in the 6man break, along with: David Lopéz(AGT), Bennati(Caterham), Mombaerts(ITV) and Cárdenas(CCC)

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0002_zpsf5bb9250.jpg
Cárdenas thought he'd taken the first climb of the day, only to slip into 3rd place! Devolder took the full points, ahead of Mombaerts of ITV

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0003_zps9e080f67.jpg
At the days first sprint Samuel Love held off the challenge of Bennati and Cárdenas with ease to take the full points available, he moved into the top10 in that competition

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0004_zpsdb1358ba.jpg
No mistakes by the colombian on that occasion, he timed his sprint to perfection and took the points on off atop the Cote des Agnels(2), The last of the highlights before you joined us live.

Live Coverage

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0005_zpsc35c4070.jpg
Welcome all once more in this horrendously grey and overcast "Race to the Sun!" The peloton, led by Lunar and Allianz is steadily reeling in the 6man breakaway, whose lead now stands at 4'11 with 63km to go. No one is yet out the back, and you join us as the peloton begin the 3rd of the days 4 categorised climbs, Le Cote de MontFuron.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0006_zps14d4ef8e.jpg
Well Cárdenas is clearly not intending to make his earlier mistakes again, his tempo up that climb was fierce, and he gets the reward as a result!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0007_zps88c6ba15.jpg
For the first time in this race, Barrys are involved up the front. Martin must be feeling strong, as they've got the whole team at the front stringing out the peloton.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0008_zpsf052e517.jpg
Albasini attacks! The peloton have 2km to the summit of the days final categorised climb, and the Swiss teamleader has gone on the offensive. The pack has already begun to reduce in size, most of the sprinters finding the pace to high to stay with, even those who can climb moderately well are struggling.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0009_zps6363163c.jpg
Meanwhile out in front, David Lopéz has won the final climb of the day. The break have 32.7km to ride, and sit 2'11 ahead of Albasini, and 2'47 ahead of the pack.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0010_zps9fc26a0b.jpg
As Albasini's lead climbs to a minute, Betancur of Fastweb attacks followed by Maxime Monfort(Haiaer). Sparking a move to the front of the pack by all the big favourites, and SGL pick up the pace.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0012_zps24122199.jpg
Kloden has Valjavec setting tempo on the front of the pack, followed by most of the main favourites. Albasini has 1'04 to the peloton, and sits 1'48 behind the break.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0013_zps919f5da2.jpg
Now we see the move from the big favourites. Rodriguez and Henao lead the move, tracked by Chavanel, Martin.T, Martin.D and Kloden.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0014_zps9eabe1f9.jpg
Kloden fires the next volley. We've still got 22km to the line, but all of the big guns are firing already. Albasini has just 35" now, and the break have 1'35 over the 70man peloton. Exciting finish time!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0015_zps67bd1090.jpg
19km... Kloden has joined Albasini out in front with 18km to go. The break have been all but caught by the duo, who have 40" over the pack.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0017_zps0b935f88.jpg
15km... Kloden and Albasini have caught the break and Sagan is off in pursuit. However it looks to be all coming back together despite the best efforts of Colombian Cárdenas

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0018_zpscf98004d.jpg
12km... All back together now, as they head towards the days very final summit. The last 10.5km are downhill, so in the rain this could be a very frightening descent!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0019_zpscbcb4b4b.jpg
10km... Voeckler attacks followed by Kloden. The frenchman is one of the best descenders in the game, and Kloden is fighting for the Maillot Jaune, this duo have a lot of potential, especially as Voeckler himself is just 44" back in GC.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0020_zpscc424a6c.jpg
7km... The attack was considered too dangerous and they were quickly reeled in. Pinot took advantage of the lull however and goes on the offensive himself, Kern, Federigo and Vinokourov give chase in a break which has more chance of being allowed free.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0021_zps32c43e6e.jpg
5km... Pinot passes the 5 to go banner, with 20" over the chasing trio, and 40" over the peloton who are almost soft pedalling, the road flattens for the last kilometre, does he have enough left?

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0022_zps9e20d59d.jpg
1600m... Pinot has 16" over the trio, and 50" to the peloton. Can he hang on after his daring attack to give Caterham the stage?

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0023_zps9a2cb6b9.jpg
200m... He's got time to zip up the jersey and throw his arms high! What a fantastic win by the young Frenchman, thoroughly deserved after his risk taking on the descent.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0024_zpsf414834d.jpg
It's a French 1-2 this afternoon, ProConti side Tap-Michelin take 2nd on the day thanks to Pierrick Federigo, whilst Barrys Veteran Vinokourov claims the final podium place on this difficult day.

Goddamn it! 4th and 5th is great but still not gaining any time....
Chavanel is looking really strong, and hopefully he can steal a bit of time somewhere. Truth told he deserves it

Nice defending by Rodriguez ... i just fear a race redo

I loved watching this stage, Kloden was doing good things for my team which is always nice after the disappointing start to PN and my TA fail, and then the Thibaut Pinot attack was perfectly timed and reminded me of Paolini in the Giro 2 days ago, only difference was he didn't quite claim the jersey.

Hmmm, nothing from Gilbert and De Gendt all day, a bit disappointing.

But always glad to see a youngster win, good race from Pinot!

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Atlantius
A very disappointing stage for my team, but at least Rebellin still manages to hold on to his GC top 10.

But a very nice win for Thibaut!

Maybe because the mo/hill ratio ....

Comment for stage 5: Albasini is best of the rest, again Frown

Charteau in the KOM jersey!

Stage 6: Again, Motorex taking the initiative, Albasini is the first serious attack, just like Gesink in T-A. Again, not strong enough to finish it off. No wins yet this season...

By the way, does a team get points for wearing mountain/points jerseys? If so, that would really come handy to Motorex, we are in almost every breakaway Pfft
