Perfect lead-out by the old German as well.
No-one can fellow the Jet when he is up to speed, really...
Look at Bennati - tries to follow him all the way, but can't.
Nice by Usov... |

Piepoli failed to start today's stage. he was 10th overall at the start of the day. this means the top 10 is now:
1 Denis Menchov (Rus) Rabobank 44.27.25
2 Vladimir Efimkin (Rus) Caisse d'Epargne 2.01
3 Cadel Evans (Aus) Predictor - Lotto 2.27
4 Carlos Sastre (Spa) Team CSC 3.02
5 Ezequiel Mosquera Miguez (Spa) Karpin Galicia 4.35
6 Samuel Sánchez (Spa) Euskaltel - Euskadi 4.42
7 Vladimir Karpets (Rus) Caisse d'Epargne 5.49
8 Manuel Beltrán (Spa) Liquigas 5.56
9 Stijn Devolder (Bel) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 6.28
10 Carlos Barredo (Spa) Quickstep - Innergetic 6.39
also, this means the mountains jersey is back with SerafÃn Acevedo
EDIT: it's because Piepoli's wife is not in good health following child birth
Actually, Menchov is leading but Serafin Acevedo wears it

Wow, that was a boring stage today, I actually fell asleep during the finale, which is supposed to be the fun part. |

looks like everyone's forgetting the Vuelta
40km to go. the break will make it, as the peloton relaxes.
the break consists of Jérémy Roy, Tom Stamsnijder and Andreas Klier
with Klier's luck, surely he'll crash before he can win

in a sprint, who the heck knows who wins
Stamsnijder probably has the best shot of all three, but if it's not a sprint, Klier has by far the best chance.

Bettini's not sprinting for the points.
meaning: he's abandoning in the next few days.

The Vuelta has a pretty bad place in the calender.

Stamsnijder forgot to win here, he was clearly the strongest. Damn!
Almost like Boogerd, sprinting at 600m! |

so:
transitional stage today, and with the stage tomorrow being hard, we can expect a breakaway to succeed today.
question is, who will be in that break?
