Stage 1 : Sacramento ITT
First stage in California is a short prologue about 4 kilometres. It´s a great chance to get a good position for the overall so our plan is to bring Rogers into the Top 5
The first overall contender was Fränk Schleck with a bad time.He already lost 34 seconds to the stage winner
Michael Rogers was already on the road and he was setting a wonderful time with 3 minutes and 19 seconds
Menchov was the next one trying to beat Rogers´time. His ride wasn´t really well, but not as bad as Schleck´s ride.He lost 16 seconds to Rogers today
First one of RadioShack was Leipheimer who should be able to win this Tour again!Probably it wasn´t his best day because he lost 25 seconds to our team-captain
His team-mate Klöden wasn´t better then him,he was also loosing 25 seconds on this short distance
The Australian time trial Champion Cadel Evans showed a bad performance, too. He even lost 26 seconds to the stage winner
Tour Champion Contador was the next favorite who had to show his strength.Compared to his rivals his set a good time, loosing only 12 seconds to Rogers
His main rival Lance Armtrong could also show an average ride but he still lost many seconds to Rogers(18) and Contador(6)
The last one of the biggest favorites was Wiggins. He came with a good time but he also couldn´t take the lead of Rogers, missing his time by 6 seconds!
Well we were already celebrating Rogers´stage win while still one rider was on the road,Jason Donald from the Bahati Foundation team. We´ve never thought that he had any chance against Rogers but when he crossed the finish-line,I couldn´t believe what the results said!Jason Donald beat Roger´s time by 1 seconds...

I guess Schleck did pretty well for his skills compared to some of the other favourites |

Well, I don´t think that he is happy with that also when his skills aren´t well.
But you´re right there were some favorites like Evans or Leipheimer who were even worse |

Stage 8 : Chianciano Terme - Terminillo
After the easy first week of the Giro 2010 we will continue with the first mountain arrival in stage 8.Pellizotti,Basso,Nibali,Cunego,Garzelli and many other climbers are able to take the stage win today while Tony Martin will try to defend his jersey but it´s gonna be a hard stage
The first serious attack came from Cunego and Garzelli while Pozzovivo and Fuglsang could follow them with 12 kilometres to go
The second wave of moves came with only 7 kilometres to go by Popovych and Pellizotti.Seems like Pellizotti is team-captain at Liquigas
Martin was trying to follow Pellizotti because we thought that he is maybe the strongest on the final climb
Brushegin took the wheel of Martin while Cunego was still in front
With only 3 kilometres to go Brushegin was the first one, reaching Cunego.Up to here it was a strong stage by Caisse and especially Brushegin
But Martin was great today and he never gave up.He even tried to get back to Brushegin,Cunego and Pellizotti
And at the final kilometre he reached Cunego who was really bushed now
Maybe a little surprise that Brushegin takes the stage win while Martin and Pellizotti are sprinting for the second place
Well,Martin comes really close in the end but it´s a great third place behind Pellizotti, loosing only 20 seconds to Brushegin who is second in the overall now with 1 minute and 20 seconds behind Tony Martin
