Make sure you don't overdo it on the turbo. It's easy to get fed up and loose motivation. |

Cool Levi, its still not as nice a hill as Sugarloaf Mountain, which is around 45 min out from where I live. I haven't ridden it yet, but I have a buddy who has and he says it is quite a fun ride.
Also I just did an hour on the trainer. It wasn't hard on my heart, but after a week off it was hard on my legs, still, it was a good workout and its a good way to hit the ground running after a week off. |

I went on a ride today over the final Kom of stage 1 of the Tour of California. I rode much of it with world cup winner Katheryn Curry-Mattis, and other pro women from Value Act Capitol, Webcor and Proman. Liz Hatch from Vanderkitten was also there(famous for posing with Maxim and some very good results last season. ON the decent of spring mountain she overcooked it and ended up breaking ribs and possibly a collarbone.
Looks like she was very lucky!

Good news
The guy who does the Cycleto stuff's name is Bob, and for most of the ride we were joking about how Bob was the first one to volunteer to stay with Liz, as soon as the paramedics started cutting her clothes off

Going to buy new shoes, and it looks like it's going to be one of these:
Sidi Ergo 2
Specialized S-Works
Which ones do you think I should buy? Last year I had the same Specialized shoe, it's too small now. I liked it very well The only problem is that I used a pair of the Sidi MTB shoes also, and they were also very good.
Or are there any other shoes I should choose? |

Dude, go for the Specialized. I know i might sound like im being bias but i lay my hand on my heart and say im not. Seriously they are the best shoe in the world. I can give you a number of other things that put this shoe above the rest but i dont want to have people constantly moaning say "Oh but your bound to want him to buy them because you work for them" |

I would go with the Sidi's as well. My dad got a pair of Pecialized shoes and I tried them, they felt like clown shoes.

The reason I recommend the Sidi's is because of a design feature of the Specialized. Specialized incorporates a tilt into the sole of the shoe to help fight against people who bend their knee in towards the top tube of the bike. This works great.....except a majority of people don't that, and for people who wear those shoes who don't bring their knee in it can be very painful. Get the SIDI's. SIDI is the Shimano of shoes, nothing flashy, nothing that looks great, just a shoe with a lot of R & D and experience behind it, that beats the hell out of most everything else. |

Things to back up the Specialized shoe, deadpool. Yes there is a tilt in the front of the shoe that helps to make to conection in the need straight. You're wrong in saying the majority of cyclists ride with their knee out. Because in fact the natural space between a humans legs in a banana so the legs try to compensate this by moving inwards. The only way your legs go out is that when your seatpost is too low thus squashing your legs outwards which is the most comfortable way to bend. Also if you get stress on the knees your get "Shims" with the specialized shoe to angle your leg, its very simple to work out and when you buy the shoe your are provided with some Body geometry documents that help you figure all this out. As far as i am aware no other company provide these shims but specialized shims work in all shoes. What you must also take into account is that Sidi come from Motor Bike shoes and the research they have put into the mechanics of the shoe is nothing compared to Specialized. If you take for example, Frank Schleck last year he wore Sidi shoes, and this year he is wearing Specialized. From test it has been proven that his performance output is 30% better. If you look at videos of frank, his knees are pointed inwards a great deal and he looks very uncomfortable on the bike. But if you look at him on the Specialized videos he looks a lot more natural. Halvor i hope you make the right decision, but make sure that your aren't going into the look of the shoe like Sidi provide. Oh and another thing the retention system on the Specialized shoe is 200% better than Sidi Proven in tests
----
Oh and another thing, i think i have glandular fever. Im going to book an appointment with the doctors. |

To me it would be a easy to choose. I would prefere the Specialized shoes! I have always been using Specialized shoes, and i really like their shoes. They are very comfortable, and they are also fitting my wide feet very well.
When i bought my shoes, the dealer told me that it is the same inner sole, that is used in all specialized shoes. This a part of the body geometry concept. I think it is very good, because the sole is very important when you are going to buy new shoes.
