Indeed, it had more to do with him being not smart enough to start the sprint himself. You know when Petacchi gets launched at a high speed, you are almost never going to get past him. |

Like cipollini in his good year. Or like Boonen in 2007 |

Pettachi was very surprised by this win, as he has never done a sprint this way before.

Its Petacchi. Please remember that Somehow people always write the names of Petacchi, Bennati and Rebellin wrong.
I think he was more happy than suprised, you have to remember he didn't win a Giro stage since 2007 (suspended last year) and he hasn't had a good sprint against Cavendish until yesterday. |

Yes, Leipheimer had a puncture and Basso lost wheels because he's not a good bike handler. Much less so Soler.

This is pissing me off. No RAI sport cos I'm no Italian. Hotspot doesn't actually work and give me an American IP. My computer still has an English one. So the only stream's I can get are shitty JustinTV ones. Talk about crap.

So....uphill finish today.
Davis? Pozzato? maybe even Petacchi?
Or maybe an attacker like Gilbert?
Pozzato's from this region, mind. He knows the finish extremely well.

That could be nice, but I don't think so. It isn't so steep or long. But there won't probably be those typical sprint trains, so it could be an old fashioned teeth and claws sprint, and that's cool too.

Eurosport commentator:
2 year suspension for Alessandro Petacchi for his involvement in OperaciĆ³n Puerto. This means Petacchi won't be able to race in italy
Took him a while to realize what he'd said.....then he started correcting himself. "I meant Alessandro Valverde".
*Sigh*
