Danny Van Poppel miss timed his sprint and ended up outside the podium despite a very fast late acceleration. It was Astana's Andrea Pasqualon who put an end to Jumbo's domination in this race, while Enger took a consecutive second place.

Kamna will not be defending his title which means that we will have a new ITT World Champion at the end of the day.
Well maybe not a totally new one. Geraint Thomas did not have the best times at the first two intermediate checkpoints, but rode brilliantly on the climb and set the best time at the moment of his finish
Dennis was 21 seconds in front of Thomas after the two intermediate checkpoints but was slower on the climb and was one second behind at the finish! It would be quite dramatic if that second proves to be the decider between gold and silver today
De Plus was 9 seconds behind Dennis at the foot of the climb, but 12 seconds in front of Thomas. He had pretty much the same climbing speed as the Ineos rider and kept his advantage to take over the lead as he finished the race
Bjerg destroyed everybody on the flat section today and was 41 seconds ahead of De Plus at the second intermediate checkpoint! But climbing is definitely not his coup of tea and the time lost on the climb saw him missing out on the medals today
Laurens De Plus adds another important race to his record of achievements for 2021. Winning the yellow jersey at the Tour de France and now a rainbow jersey. What a season it has been for the Belgian rider.

We travel to Plouay for this year's World Championships Road Race, for a profile that should be more sprinter friendly when compared to the previous two seasons.
We won't have a classic mass sprint though as the main group is quite reduced as he reach the final uphill section of the day and the Netherlands try to take control of the group
The Dutch riders were working for Van Poppel, but it looks like the last uphill section was a hat too big for him as he runs out of energy and stops pushing into his pedals
Van der Poel tried to save things for his national team, but he was only good enough for second place as it is Colombia's Fernando Gaviria who becomes the new World Champion!
Results 1. | | Fernando Gaviria | UAE Team Emirates | 5h16'33 | 2. | | Mathieu Van der Poel | Corendon - Circus | s.t. | 3. | | Peter Sagan | BORA - hansgrohe | s.t. | 4. | | Alberto Bettiol | EF Education First p/b Cannondale | s.t. | 5. | | Mads Pedersen | Trek - Segafredo | s.t. | 6. | | Magnus Cort Nielsen | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 7. | | Danny Van Poppel | Team Jumbo-Visma | s.t. | 8. | | Valentin Madouas | Groupama - FDJ | s.t. | 9. | | Jasper Stuyven | Trek - Segafredo | s.t. | 10. | | Michael Valgren Andersen | Team Dimension Data | s.t. | 11. | | Dylan Van Baarle | Team Jumbo-Visma | s.t. | 12. | | Caleb Ewan | Lotto Soudal | s.t. | 13. | | Tadej Pogačar | UAE Team Emirates | s.t. | 14. | | Maximilian Schachmann | Team Sunweb | s.t. | 15. | | Oliver Naesen | Deceuninck-Quick Step | s.t. | 16. | | Bob Jungels | Deceuninck-Quick Step | s.t. | 17. | | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Team Dimension Data | s.t. | 18. | | Wilco Kelderman | Team Jumbo-Visma | s.t. | 19. | | Gianni Moscon | Deceuninck-Quick Step | s.t. | 20. | | Marco Canola | UAE Team Emirates | s.t. |

Gronewegen looked like a sure bet for today's victory especially as he went past Fabio Jakobsen in the final kilometre, but Baska and Dupont saved their energy really well in first past of the sprint and had some crazy acceleration as we reached the finish line with the Slovakian celebrating a surprise win.

With quite a few quick riders surviving in the main group today, our climbers were clear victims in the sprint for the victory. Alvaro Hodeg surprisingly went over the climbs today and he took a clear victory as he was by far the fastest rider in the front group.

Wow really close for Sivakov for his podium in the Vuelta, but glad he made it! Also great for Bennett to win the KoM jersey and great victories in Quebec and De Plus who wins the World Championship ITT!

We have quite a route on our hands this year for the Monument that suits climbers the most. And to spicy things up we also have some light cobbles quite close to the finish line.
Sivakov and Kelderman went to the front of the pack on the penultimate climb of the day, with Sivakov attacking and getting a gap right before the cobbles
Sivakov started the final uphill section with a slight advantage over the favorites group, but Deceuninck clearly had the numbers there to set up a strong chase
But when Alaphilippe, who was surprisingly leading the chase, pulls over exhausted, no one seems to have the same pace and Sivakov is suddenly out of their sight, as De Plus closely marks the boys in blue
And Sivakov kept marching on to take the win of his career. What an autumn it has been for the Russian to take his first podium in a GT, his first GT stage win victory and now his first Monument. Behind him, De Plus also added a Monument podium to what has also been the best season of his career

Alvaro Hodeg has shown some impressing form lately and today was no different as he beat Dylan Groenewegen in the sprint. The race seems to be forbidden for Jumbo as this marks our third second place in a row.

A late attack by Robert Gesink was neutralized in dramatic fashion with only a few metres before the finish line, denying the old Dutchman one of his last opportunities for individual glory. Van Aert could have saved the day for Jumbo, but he wasn't as fast as Davide Ballerini, who was first across the line.

After losing a very close sprint to Alvaro Hodeg in the first stage, Groenewegen went on to win all of the next 4 mass sprints. And with Ulissi and Higuita only getting an 11 seconds gap to the pack in the queen stage, Gronewegen was set for his third overall win in a row in China.
Each sprint saw a fierce battle between Groenewegen and Hodeg,
with Dyland coming out on top

Three years in a row second at the Ronde van Zeeland is quite an achievement haha. Great victory for Dylan at Guangxi, well done to him for surviving a hilly stage! Three years in a row winning there is a great result as well.

Some really good results to end the season. The TT WC is a great win for De Plus. Sivakov is looking like a top rider for the team too now. Will be interesting to see if they all stay next season, with so many leaders fighting for races.
Funny to see Quintana go to Astana's CT team as well.

Yeah, Nairo was weird. And they haven't even been promoted to PCT so now WT races for Quintana next year.
Pinot was initially going to Canyon, but I figured it would fit better if he returned to Groupama, given their transfers trouble
