they will work for bettini sunday im sure qs know they cant keep it til the end and wont sacrifice their whole team to try and keep it as long as possible
Bettini said after the race that he is willing to work for Visconti and sacrifice the points jersey in order to help him...
come on, odds are that after tomorrow he will already have lost 2-3mins of his lead, there's no way in hell he can keep it and no need to sacrifice the team for it imo

Give Visconti some credit... He is very strong on the hills... The one stage where I think he can lose all the advantage he has in on the Mountain TT... There i have no doubt he will lose at least 3/4 min... I think it's a question of knowing what the sponsors want the most... Bettini with the points shirt or Visconti with the leader's jersey for a week...

Liquigas was giving away the jersey so they don't have to defend it tomorrow, rather they can actually look to race aggressively. Because Pellizotti isn't in the leaders jersey they don't have the pressure of having to chase things down. Now it's all di Lucas pressure as he's defending champ. Good tactics i feel. Plus they still have the points jersey i believe.
It is a good tactic... But only for Bennati... 6min is a big gap, and this year's mountains aren't that hard... LPR, Astana, Saunier and Serramenti PVC were sleeping... Visconti's not a brilliant climber and he doesn't have what it takes to do 3 decent TTs but 6 min is still cutting it close... Especially when he has a whole team now prepared to work just for him...
People were saying the exact same thing about Pinotti last year, who is an equally good mountain climber and huge few levels above as a time triallist. Mark my words: Visconti won't have the jersey in Alpe di Pampeago.

Above all I think people are overestimating tomorrow's stage. There won't be any big differences. That said, a couple of guys at the very least will lose some time. That doesn't mean we can discount them, though. Basso lost about a minute in the first stage of 2005 and dominated the rest of the giro (except for the stomach virus)

Bettini and helping Visconti to keep he's jersey..ok he has nothing left to do..because he wont get sprinter jersey this year. This belongs to Bennati
he wants to win on sunday, because its a stage which suits him and because it ends in the region where he was born/lives :-) he wont sacrifice that to keep visconti a day or two more in the pink imo but we shall see
Well it wil be hard for Bettini to get the points jersey, even today Bennati won the sprint out of the peloton i think, and the group was around 50-60 riders.
I have to say that it is an interesting giro so far! I am really enjoying watching it as you never now how the stage will evolve. Not like the first week of "le tour" where you have only sprint finals. I think Visconti will have that jersey for some time. Russ looked pretty bad in the final climb today, but he isnt that bad uphill usually.
