Evans is still the big card imo and hopefully were gonna see his insane strength when they hit more mountains
Like last year where he cracked in the Mountain Stages that were riden??? He only mange to stay in the Podium beacuse 1 Mountain Stage was canceled and another one was softpedaled IIRC otherwise he would have ended up in 5 or 6 place. Looks like some fanboys allready forgot last year Giro

Yeah but you gotta admit this years Evans doesn't look like last years Evans. He looks better.
But Uran's improvement is just mindblowing. Last year he was just barely better than Kelderman and Gretsch in the ITT. Basically same level.
This year, even while Kelderman and Gretsch improved their ITT result, Uran is suddenly 2 minutes faster
If he has the same improvement in the mountains, then Uran is going to be an unstoppable force, even for Quintana..

are these not breakaway victories?
True, but both not in a (entirely) flat stage. Maybe what they mean is that they are happy that the race is finally not totally controlled in a flat stage.
Uran was awesome in that TT, he has really improved there, I am unsure about his climbing. He was very average (compared to GC riders) in Tirreno and Romandie, though better in Oman. You still feel if Quintana goes well they will be dropping like flies off his wheel - this guy was with Froome on Ventoux most of the way.
Uran has it all for him, with a really decent climbing squad around him in Poels, Brambilli and possibly De Gendt too. Smart move by Omega to not have Cavendish and target the Giro this could be landmark Grand Tour win for them.
Very excited to see how well Majka, Aru, Kelderman do against the standard bearer of the old guard Evans.
I must admit though the guy I really want to see fly this weekend is Pozzovivo , I think he frightened the others with his breakaway the other day.

1) It wasn't a regular TT. Kelderman, especially Gretsch would beat Uran on totally flat TT.
2) Everybody improves their TTing under Quickstep. Can't say the same about climbing.

kelderman said he was hindered by the motorcyclist in the first part aswell, he couldnt ride the curves well cause the motor was in the way. Maybe that's cost him some seconds (as he was really bad in the first part)
Breakaway to win the stage.
Quintana to crack with Majka.
Pozzovivo, Uran and Evans the strongest of the GC riders with Pozzovivo finishing the best of them.
