@nacho
*Cough* Algarve *Cough*.
If it's okay with Ollfardh, I will start Langkawi today because there's no point waiting for the other races imo.

Yeah go for it. It means we'll have 4 races going on at once, which is about the max, but most people are waiting for Omloop anyway.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Please oh god Please do start that thing!
Nice to see the last stage in Qatar ends with some fireworks. A great start to the season for RadioShack in the TDU and in Qatar, 2 races where we didn't expect anything.
Hard luck Atlantius I hate when the game breaks on the last stage. |

Spoiler Quick updated rider rankings: Cavendish comes close, but Brouwer still in the lead. I'm pretty confident about who will lead the team rankings though
1 | W. Brouwer | 414 | 2 | G. Meersman | 372 | 3 | M. Cavendish | 313 | 4 | D. Moreno | 238 | 5 | B. Jungels | 220 | 6 | A. Kristoff | 200 | 7 | M. Kittel | 190 | 8 | F. Gavazzi | 177 | 9 | M. Vanendert | 88 | | F. Wegmann | 88 | 19 | I. Anton | 80 | 20 | G. Nizzolo | 74 |
EDIT: team rankings updated on the first page. This now includes the promised penalties for the big PM, late and/or error(s). Also maybe interesting to know, Quick Step scored a record 615 points here, despite this being a lowest category race, a team time trial and no mountain jersey to be awarded!
Pretty sure Antón should have 88 pts and not 80 for a stage podium (st. 2), a stage top 10 (st. 5) and a GC top 10 in TDU?
And evil you/stupid me for 50 pts penalty!

Corrected, indeed I forgot to count the 8 points in top 5. It should be correct in your team ranking though.

Why my penalty, is it for trying to be helpful and using a spreadsheet, because if so I will call you an evil dictator a LOT more, you Goliath Rabbit Munching Fish you. Also, Bardiani doing well, a massive -10 points, could be much worse... |

Yup, some punishments were added for not being on time, being way over time, conflicting races, mistake in race days, no list of race days at all.
Rider rankings also updated
EDIT: not including San Luis

Le Tour de Langkawi Stage 1
Favourites: Brookes (BAR), Guardini (AST), Howard (OGE), Kruopis (OGE), D.Van Poppel (VCD)
Outsiders: Alinejad (RLT), Davis (OGE), Porsev (KAT), Siskevicius (SOJ), Vantomme (CRE)
Weather: 28°, strong breeze with gusts of 30kph.
A nice easy start to the race here in Malaysia, that should end in a sprint. 164km long and primarily flat with a bit of undulation, including a third category climb, near the end.
158km to go: Walker (TNE) goes on the attack just five kilometres into his professional debut. E.Kovalev (RVL) follows.
150km: Nobody else has attacked and the peloton is hardly moving. The two leaders have already built up a lead of 3'30 and look certain to be the break of the day.
124 km: Walker takes the first intermediate sprint ahead of E.Kovalev. Brookes (BAR) picks up the remaining two points just over three minutes later, beating Guardini (AST), Van Poppel (VCD) and Howard (OGE).
110 km: The lead duo have now pulled out their advantage to 7'10, which would be the maximum the peloton would allow.
102 km: At the second sprint, Walker easily beats Kovalev again. Six minutes later, Brookes once again beats the others to claim third.
80km: Meier (OGE) suddenly forgets how to ride his bike and comes down in the peloton. Fortunately, everyone else avoids him and he is able to carry on without major injury. The peloton is really starting to pick the pace up now, with Bardiani Valvole and Astana well in control.
50km: Kovalev just can't live with Walker's acceleration as the young Brit clinches the third and final sprint, meaning he has gained 18 points and 18 seconds today. D.Van Poppel beats Brookes to third this time, 2'30 behind the leaders.
13km: Walker also takes the solitary KoM sprint, easily beating Kovalev. But as you can see, the peloton is right behind them. Favre (OGE) takes third for two points.
10km: Walker has now dropped the Russian as he tries to stay ahead of the rampaging peloton. However, he only has thirty seconds on the peloton, with Bardiani Valvole doing the bulk of the work for Brookes.
7km: And sure enough, with seven kilometres to go, the catch is made as Walker is engulfed by the peloton. A great day for the 18 year old nevertheless. Now eyes turn to the sprint, with four teams (BAR, OGE, VCD, AST) all well represented at the front.
3km: Bardiani Valvole are the only team with an organised train at the moment, with Baggio and O'Callaghan leading Brookes. Van Asbroeck (TSV) is in a great position on the Australian's wheel, the rest are all over the place.
2km: Now it's all changed as Bardiani have been swamped by Orica and Astana, Davis (OGE) and Guarnieri (AST) going head to head. Porsev (KAT) and Alinejad (RLT) are on Guardini's wheel, while behind Howard are Felline (AND) and Duque (COL). Can O'Callaghan save Brookes?
1km to go: Under the flamme rouge, Brookes has been blocked by his own teammate, Baggio, and is well out of it. While Howard is also nowhere near Kruopis, who is currently in the lead. He, along with Porsev, Guardini and Alinejad have a gap to the rest.
500m to go: Now Alinejad streaks past the others and takes the lead but the others are coming from way back at an impressive speed, including Howard, B.Van Poppel, Vantomme and D.Van Poppel. This is going to be a very close finish.
FINISH: Or not... Howard (OGE) comes from way back to beat Alinejad (RLT) by more than a bike length. B.Van Poppel (VCD) takes third ahead of Vantomme (CRE) and a disappointing Brookes (BAR). Tleubayev surprisingly being the highest placed Astana rider with Guardini run well out of it. Bardiani Valvole and Astana need to have a chat tonight.

The Iranian cycling circles will be going mad!
Perhaps inexperience costing him there, he looks like he went a tad early.
Great report Brewers90 and c'mon Naveed! |

Oh, Roberto, what where you doing there? Blocking me and Fabian off? Still, Top 10 is a very nice result for a lead out man.

Yeah, i know, but "Oh Roberto" with an italian accent just sounds infinitly better than "Oh Filippo".
