Official confirmation has come through that stage 19 of the Giro d'Italia has been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions and the presence of snow. More soon...

Ahh, come on!
I don't care that there won't be massive GC gaps or something, I just wanted this stage

Too bad, although I prefer to see today cancelled instead of tomorrow. Really hope the same thing wont happen again.
At least Cav will be happy. The points jersey is all but his now.

So, Gesink won't start tomorrow, because he felt sick during the TT.
Guess everything for a stage-win now. Sadly, just one mountain stage left now...

They were never going to do Stelvio anyway. It was taken out yesterday already.
The problem is that it looks the same on Tonale, Castrin and in Val Martello.

So this means Gesink won't get kicked off his bike by a marmotte with rabies??? Good decision
So now I just have to watch the ITT of the Belgium Tour instead this afternoon.... Lame

Yes, I'd love to see that though(Gesink kicked of his bike by a marmotte, not Belgium Tour).
Sooo... Kelderman leader now?
Nah, I don't think they will choose a real leader now, just going full for a stage-win.

Shame but the right decision. This Giro had so much potential and it's been ruined by sickness and the weather (though you can part blame the weather for the sickness too I guess).
Booked the day off today to watch what should have been an epic fully televised stage, instead I'm off for a ride in the cold, wind and rain here. Wonder if winter will have ended by the time summer officially starts? |

Those who are speaking about swapping Vuelta with Giro ,look how it looks like in Andalusia mountains now.

Di Luca interviewed Wednesday:
"Doping is a weakness, period. But it's disappeared from cycling and other sports"
So sorry none of his stage win attempts came off |

#Giro Di Luca tested positive for EPO on April 29 in an out of competition test at his home. Via @pierbergonzi
Due process and all that but if true why was he even riding the Giro? |

This is so, so, so, so surprising...
Good to get rid of him. Bad news nevertheless. |

Snow at 800m in northern italy today... no way to do a mountain stage, unless they move to Etna... |
