Hot Wheels - Porsche | We're back!
MrUfo87
tmr96: He's better than that one Watson had after winning the Ronde van Drenthe. Pfft Thanks for sending questions tmr.

The Rider: Heckel is Dutch, not German. Wink But we have to be rational, so if he's not good enough he has to leave. The Fan Day was especially for the fans and it was for you the possibility to ask questions to the riders. And of course our sponsors ensured that the day was promoted. Wink

Almost starting the new season

We're almost about to start the new season! But here is the final information for next season and also some I forgot to give about this season.

First of all, here are the sponsor goals from last season. We achieved much more than I expected. But hopefully we can achieve more next season. I think that must be possible.

It's now official that Philips will be the new sponsor of Blanco.

Hill, Pellerin and Webb all found a new team. Hill will ride for 5-Hour Energy, Pellerin for Roubaix Lille Métropole and Webb for Bissell Cycling

HWP organises two races in 2014!

Our own race organisation will have two races on the calender in 2014. The first one is the Criterium Hainleite (made by roturn). This is a German race in Erfurt, Thüringen. The race has a hilly profile and there are cobbles in it. The race will be held on March 7th. The second race is the Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt (made by tyriion). This race is in German as well. It's back on the calender after it disappeared after 2007. Nevertheless we see it as a new race, so the first race will be held from 11 till 15 September. We'll start in Mainz and the finish is in Bad Ems. More information about both races will be told at their presentations, somewhere in January.

Looking forward to more great riding in the new season Wink

sutty68: I'm happy to see that you're looking forward to it. Smile Sorry that it's taking some time. Embarassed

Hi everyone,
Welcome at the presentation of our team. After a good first year, we’ll now go into our second year as a team. We are proud that our sponsors, Hot Wheels and Porsche, will help us this year as well. We’ll use the same team kit and bikes as last season, which are created by Bikex. Last season we didn’t made any season goals, but this year we’ll have some. These are our goals for this season:

- Take at least five victories

- Win at least one national championship

- Finish Top 10 in both HWP races (Criterium Hainleite and Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt)

- Sign at least one other German cyclist

My personal goal is:

- Scout a South Korean talent

And of course, we have our sponsor goals. I think they’re a little bit too enthusiastic with choosing their goals because some of them are for World Tour races, and we won’t participate in those races. Except for that we’ll try to achieve the other goals.

Just like last year we’ll start the season at the Tour de San Luis. We hope to get a Top-10 place in the GC there, but everything can happen. We’ll also try to win a stage, but that’s not our main goal.

Hope its ok to post now Wink

A nice mixture of Nationalities in the team Wink, lets hope for more success this season Smile

MrUfo87
sutty68: Yeah, it's okay. Wink Many nationalities is something we want. The riders are much stronger this season so I think we have to be more competitive than last season. Wink

The Rider
Good luck in the new season.

Based on last season five wins should be achievable.

I don't see how the team CAN'T win that Hong Kong NC!

Bring it one! (Looking forward to the new races) Wink

MrUfo87
The Rider: Thanks! Smile Five victories must be possible indeed. And well, we don't to assume To's jersey yet, but the chance that he'll win is pretty high. Wink

The post with the cyclists and their goals has been updated now.

Hopefully comes there a very nice season, with a great start in Tour de San Luis!

tmr96: I hope the season will be great indeed, but the Tour de San Luis will be a little bit more difficult than expected. You'll see soon. Wink

Tour de San Luis – Stage 1

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/TourdeSanLuisStage1_zpsfa70c4eb.jpg

Welcome back on the road. We start our season here in Argentina at the Tour de San Luis. Last year it was our first race as a professional cycling team. Now, with much more experience, we start here again. Rogers will lead our team here, while Watson is our sprinter. The competition is strong, with Peter Velits and Diego Ulissi as favourites for the GC and Petacchi, Hutarovich and Ciolek for the sprints.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%201/PCM0912_zpscd41f8c3.jpg

After attacking for a while there’s a breakaway with eleven cyclists. Garcia Sánchez is our rider in front. At the mountain sprint we were too late with attacking, so unfortunately no mountain jersey for us.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%201/PCM0913_zpsb267d700.jpg

We were doing much better at the intermediate sprints. Here’s the first sprint where Garcia Sánchez took second place.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%201/PCM0914_zps6fca2d01.jpg

At the second intermediate sprint he finished second again. Nice job from you, Pablo! The final part of the stage was very chaotic. The breakaway was caught but during the preparation for the sprint there were suddenly some riders who were leading with a gap.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%201/PCM0915_zps7341c549.jpg

Eventually, it was David Tanner, one of the riders who suddenly was in front of the peloton, who won the first stage. He’s the first leader here. Watson finished twelfth in this chaotic final part of the stage.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%201/PCM0916_zps0068de1c.jpg

We have a good start as well. Because of the bonification seconds, Garcia Sánchez took the young jersey. He’s also standing fourth in the GC at the moment. We hope to continue this here in Argentina.

Today's winner

The Rider
Nice to see Pablo off to a good start. Wink

Would be great to see Watson in the top 10 with a good sprint.

MrUfo87
The Rider: Garcia Sánchez had a good start indeed. And I think a Top-10 place for Watson in a mass sprint must be possible. Maybe even a Top-5 sprint, although there's much competition here.

sutty68
A nice steady start for the guys in Argentina Wink

MrUfo87
sutty68: The start is good. Hopefully we can continue that. Wink

Tour de San Luis – Stage 2

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/TourdeSanLuisStage2_zpsa78c7202.jpg

The second stage of the Tour de San Luis has an uphill end. The climb is eight kilometres. The breakaway included five cyclists, with this time the other Spaniard of us, Freire, in it. And he was doing well.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0918_zps218250df.jpg

Freire won the first intermediate sprint in front of Pichot, the French cyclist who went to Rabobank Development Team.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0919_zps02a0af85.jpg

Freire didn’t pay attention at the first mountain sprint, but he did at the second. And how; he won the mountain sprint and he beat some riders who’re much better in climbing than he is.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0920_zpsf6488fb2.jpg

The second intermediate sprint was really close, but Freire is very bad at sprinting so it was a nice result.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0921_zpsb6f69831.jpg

But now the final part of the race is coming, and the breakaway was thinking about the stage victory. But they still had to hold the gap to the peloton. Pichot, the worst climber of the breakaway, attacked. The others had to chase him. But finally he got caught, and the whole breakaway got caught.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0922_zpsef7a09dd.jpg

But then, a Polish rider attacked, and no-one reacted on his attack. One of our riders did. No, this is not Rogers. Rogers is in bad shape, so we don’t think he can do something here. No, this is a rider on who you can always trust; Ian Watson. Although he’s no climber, he created a gap to the peloton very fast. Then he passed Freire, who was still in front (he attacked when the Polish rider attacked), and left him alone. The gap to the Polish cyclist was one minute, but behind Watson there were several riders attacking. For example the leader, David Tanner. Apparently he’s in good shape because he climbed very well.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0923_zpsb9d26bf0.jpg

It was the Polish rider who won, a great start for Bank BGZ.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0924_zpsca2a37e1.jpg

But behind him, it was the sprinter Watson who climbed to the second place. In the background you see Freire finishing fourth.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0925_zps4d04108d.jpg

The gap between Watson and Tanner was big enough to take over the leader jersey! And that while I was worried about this stage, with a leader in bad shape and no other climbers. This is a great start here, but the time-trial has still to come. And Watson is very bad at time-trials.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0926_zpse6bc9507.jpg

Of course Watson is also leading the young classification. He took over the jersey from Garcia Sánchez who fell back to the 20th position in the GC.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Stage%202/PCM0927_zpsffa0272b.jpg

And to show our team result, we’re also leading in the team classification. The start here in Argentina is awesome so far.

Today’s winner
