Last year, the race ended in a mass sprint, as usual. Francisco Ventoso gave Carmio Oro the biggest win of the season.

Our team:
img525.imageshack.us/img525/4546/ploeg.jpg

Favourites:
*** Jurgen Roelandts (Omega Pharma), Julian Dean (Garmin), Marcel Kittel
** Romain Feillu (Vacansoleil), Leonardo Duque (Cofidis), Kenny Dehaes (Omega Pharma)
* Nico Eeckhout (An Post), Aidis Kruopis (Landbouwkrediet), Jeremy Hunt (Sky), Tomasz Smolen (CCC)

Our goal: Top 3 with Kittel.

The story of the race: 10 riders find each other in the BOTD, with lots of unknown names in it. Most known are Ben King (Radio Shack) and Davy Cappelle (Veranda's). They get a maximum lead of 6 minutes, but get caught 12 kilometres before the finish.
Omega Pharma - Lotto makes the pace in the final kilometres. Adam Blythe is their lead out man, followed byKenny Dehaes and Jurgen Roelandts. We have decided not to set up a train, so Marcel Kittel settles himself in the wheel of the Omega-train.
img3.imageshack.us/img3/2783/15kmq.jpg

Kenny Dehaes takes over with 2 kilometres to go. Roelandts is still in his wheel, followed by Kittel. But the German starts losing energy....
img11.imageshack.us/img11/2250/22km.jpg

Jurgen Roelandts takes over with 1200 metres to go, but this is too early! 800 metres before the finish, he can see three riders closing in on his left side: Nico Eeckhout (An Post), Julian Dean (Garmin) and Romain Feillu (Vacansoleil). Kittel won't reach our top 3-goal, and falls back to 6th place.
img411.imageshack.us/img411/1886/3600m.jpg

When Kittel sprints to the 7th place, he sees the green shirt of Eeckhout starting to celebrate...
img411.imageshack.us/img411/271/4finishc.jpg

But the Belgian veteran was too early with it, and he gets passed in the last centimetres by New Zealand's Julian Dean. It's the first win of the season for the 35-year-old Garmin sprinter. Eeckhout gets 2nd, Feillu 3rd.

Word from the DS: Not a good race. Kittel simply hadn't got the power in the sprint to get in the top 3.

The 2nd edition of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, a race that immediately received the UCI World Tour status (together with the GPCd Montréal the only one on the American continent).
The route consists of a 12.6km circuit and after 16 laps, the riders have cycled 201.6 hilly kilometres, so it is a race for the puncheurs.

In 2010 French Thomas Voeckler surprised with the win for his Bouygues team. As his new Europcar team doesn't participate, there will be a new winner in the 2nd edition.

The favourites:
*** Andy Schleck
** Nicki Sorensen (Saxo Bank), Michal Albasini (HTC), Nicholas Roche (AG2R)
* José Rujano (Androni), Rinaldo Nocentini (AG2R), Simon Spilak (Lampre).

Our team:
img341.imageshack.us/img341/2632/1ploeg.jpg

Our goal: With this weak field, we will only be satisfied with the win.

It's raining cats and dogs in the streets of Québec. With 140km to go, a BOTD is formed. In it: Y. Nepomnyachshiy (Astana), D. Klemme (Leopard), M. Pinotti (HTC), A. Spezialetti (Lampre), M. Wilson (Garmin), A. Amador (Movistar), M. Busche (Radio Shack), F. Duarte (Geox), D. Tanner (Saxo Bank), S. Casar (FDJ) and C. Barton (BMC).
img825.imageshack.us/img825/1463/2140km.jpg

The wet road causes many, many crashes. Also Fabio Duarte crashes, while being in the BOTD. He can get back on his bike quickly and rejoins his former breakaway buddies.
img155.imageshack.us/img155/8601/3120kmvalduarte.jpg

The gap to the peloton is maximal 7'04. Then the peloton starts to chase them and with 48km to go, the lead is 4'15. Meanwhile, it has started to rain even heavier.
img507.imageshack.us/img507/9948/448km.jpg

When the riders cross the finishline for the penultimate time, the escapees are caught. jack Bobridge, Martijn Maaskant and Pim Ligthart are doing the pace, and only 58 riders are in the leading group.
img17.imageshack.us/img17/4289/5125km.jpg

The peloton rides along the Saint Lawrence river for the last time. There are 5 kilometres to go and Andy Schleck is already among the first riders in this group.
img715.imageshack.us/img715/5328/65km.jpg

The last climb has started and the sky is that dark, that the riders almost need lights on their bikes. Schleck easily rides away from the group and is on his way to his 12th win of the season.
img265.imageshack.us/img265/4493/73km.jpg

Nobody could follow him, so Andy Schleck is the successor of Thomas Voeckler in the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. Ángel Vicioso (Androni) sprints to a surprising 2nd place at '31, in front of AG2R's Rinaldo Nocentini. Pim Ligthart sprints to a good 7th place.

The 79th edition of the GP de Fourmies in the Northern part of France.

The route is not entirely flat, but not hilly enough to not let it end in a mass sprint.

Romain Feillu won the last 2 editions, but won't go for the triple.

Our team:
img228.imageshack.us/img228/5042/5ploeg.jpg

Favourites:
*** Marcel Kittel, Daryl Impey (NetAPP), Jimmy Casper (Saur)
** Kenny van Hummel (Skil), Lloyd Mondory (AG2R), Aidis Kruopis (Landbouwkrediet)
* Kris Boeckmans (Topsport), Tony Gallopin (Cofidis), Yukiya Arashiro (Europcar)

Our goal:
A top 3 with Kittel.

In a rainy France, a group of 14 riders form the BOTD. Most famous names: Tom Leezer (Rabobank), Leigh Howard (HTC) and Sven Nys (Landbouwkrediet). They get a maximum lead of 8'30, but don't stand a chance against the peloton and get caught 10km before the finish.
img52.imageshack.us/img52/6899/6botd.jpg

We decide to form a train and with 5 kilometres to go, we are in the lead with Terpstra - Rosseler - Vermeltfoort - Kittel. Kenny van Hummel sits in our wheel.
img411.imageshack.us/img411/5672/75km.jpg

Kittel has the plan to start the sprint 1km before the finish, but gets surprised by Daryl Impey (NetAPP) and Kenny van Hummel (Skil), who both start the sprint with 1250m to go. Can the German make this up?
img580.imageshack.us/img580/5063/81km.jpg

Daryl Impey is too strong and is the first South-African rider to win the GP de Fourmies. He feels comfortable in France, as he also won a stage and the GC in the Tour de Limousin. With the win, he even extends his lead in the Continental-ranking! Van Hummel gets second and Kittel sprints to 3rd place.

Word from the DS: The sprinttrain was good, but Kittel waited to long to start his sprint. Next time: start earlier!

unfortunally you don't win with kittel.

sutty68
I have Kittel in my team and despite perfect lead outs he always comes in 6th or 7thSad

Kittel has 78 in Sprinting in my game and 2 or 3 stars left. So he can get a 82 or something in sprinting. He is young, so he can develop even further.

The second Canadian UCI World Tour race is the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. The race is held on a 12.1 km circuit and 17 laps make a race distance of 205.7 kilometres. Every time, the riders have to climb the Mont Royal, a 1.8km climb with an average gradient of 8%. The total race altitude difference is 3893 metres, what makes it a tough hilly classic!
img64.imageshack.us/img64/3093/2route.jpg

The first edition of the race was won by Dutch Robert Gesink. The former Rabobank-rider attacked in the ascend of Mont Royal in the last lap and managed to keep his lead to the finish. He doesn't defend his title, as the race is organized the same day as the last stage of the Vuelta (which he won!).

Our team:
img689.imageshack.us/img689/8609/4ploeg.jpg

Favourites:
*** Andy Schleck
** Przemyslaw Niemiec (Lampre), Rinaldo Nocentini (AG2R), Bauke Mollema (Rabobank)
* Angel Vicioso (Androni), Peter Velits (HTC), CA Sorensen (Saxo Bank)

Our goal:
After the win by Andy in Québec, our goal is to get the Canadian double!

The riders start the 205.7 kilometres in dry weather conditions. After a few fruitless attacks, 9 riders find each other in the BOTD. When the sky is getting darker and the riders wait for the rain to come (again), these riders get a maximum lead of 9'20 with 85 kilometres to go. The riders in the BOTD: M. Belkov (Vacansoleil), G. Cheula (Geox), J. Demaret (Cofidis), G. Ermeti (Androni), M. Pedersen (Leopard), M. Schär (BMC), M. Vantomme (Katusha), P. Weening (Rabobank) and F. Willems (Omega Pharma).
img715.imageshack.us/img715/1287/5botd.jpg

Back in the peloton, a lot of crashes have happened. Although none of the riders got injured and could get back on their bikes again, some outsiders for the win came in trouble. Bauke Mollema (Rabobank), Pavel Brutt (Katusha), Simon Spilak (Lampre) and the number 2 in Québec Angel Vicioso (Androni) could set a cross through their chances for today.
The first counterattack out of the peloton comes with 35 kilometres to go. Egor Silin (Katusha) and Rein Taaramae (Cofidis) attack. The BOTD has an advantage of 4'11.
img21.imageshack.us/img21/6573/631km.jpg

But the 2 get caught in the next lap. When the penultimate lap has started, and the gap to the BOTD has been decreased to 1'10, Przemyslaw Niemiec attacks in the ascend of Mont Royal (22.5km to go).
img89.imageshack.us/img89/7342/7niemiec.jpg

Pim Ligthart, Sep Vanmarcke & Martijn Maaskant work their asses off to catch Niemiec and close the gap to the BOTD. They succeed in it, and a group of 120 riders start the last lap, 12.5 kilometres to go.
img233.imageshack.us/img233/3434/81ronde.jpg

But in the middle of the peloton is a big crash. Rabo's Steven Kruijswijk is the first to crash together with Pavel Brutt (Katusha). AG2R's Ben Gastauer tries to avoid them, but crashes through the iron fences next to the road! Because of the crash, only 55 riders stay up front.
img841.imageshack.us/img841/6429/9val.jpg

Again, Przemyslaw Niemiec attacks in the ascend of the Mont Royal. there are 11 kilometres left in the race. Behind him several riders try to jump on his away and create a gap to the others.
img851.imageshack.us/img851/4700/1011km.jpg

5 riders find each other and with 7.5 kilomtres to go, they have a '27 lead to the chasing peloton. The 5 are: Niemiec, Simon Clarke (Astana), Sylvester zmyd (Liquigas), Rinaldo Nocentini (AG2R) and of course Andy Schleck
img715.imageshack.us/img715/6619/1176km.jpg

Schleck attacks in the last uphill part with 5.6 kilometres to go. Niemiec tries to follow but feels his legs burning.
img232.imageshack.us/img232/608/1256km.jpg

Back on the flat part of the circuit, there are 3.6 kilometres to go. Schleck has a gap of 16 seconds to Rinaldo Nocentini. The Italian has a small gap to the other 3 riders, but the peloton comes back quickly.
img412.imageshack.us/img412/6128/1336km.jpg

Nocentini can't close the gap to the Monster Energy-rider. With 1 km to go, he's '17 behind.
img249.imageshack.us/img249/4221/141km.jpg

Andy Schleck takes the Canadian double, his 13th win of the season! He had to work a lot harder for it than one day earlier in Québec. '20 behind him, Rinaldo Nocentini gets a great 2nd place, with Simon Clarke (Astana) sprinting to the 3rd place.

Word from the DS: It has been a great period in North America. First the domination in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and now the double in the 2 Canadian World Tour races. Andy is doing great, but we hope that the competition is stronger here next year.
