@ olabj - Thanks! And also fixed!
@ kitface - Yeah, I thought I should mention him (Didn't touch his stats at all ) Thanks too!
@ roturn - Thanks I hope so too, it would be a shame. I hope they atleast get 40 race days as thats about 1 GT and a few stage races.
@ Avin - Thanks! Yeah each one took about 1 hour, but the last on especially was really fun to write, so its not a big deal. And yeah, I wouldn't want my followers to not know all the new transfers and riders stats etc. for the new season. It would ruin a bit of the enjoyment in reading it then.
@ rorzcp - I think I set it up so that most guys were on a two year contract.

GreenEDGE is pretty spectacular, but i think you should have broken it up a little bit with some guys from other countries. |

I literally think, that was my most enthusiastic update ever. Can you tell? Is it better?
It definetely was! I've never seen so many exclimation marks in a preview before It makes the reading a lot more fun. Good luck with the new season.

Excellent preview, valverde. I'd like to see a battle between Cavendish vs. GreenEDGE. |

Another great preview I'm starting to forget that this a one-rider story
David you got a lot of time on your hands in the offseason to put this preview together ... Shouldn't you be training or something like that?

Nice preview
I hope that Greenedge can figure out who to work for because, with so many sprinters, some are bound to get angry about their role. |

Yeah sorry! Should only be a few until we focus back to David!
@ johannes-w - Thanks, I added it for comedic effect!
@baseballlover - With PCM, I'm sure that wont be a problem!

Protour Winner Favourites:
1. Leopard - Trek
2. Sky ProCycling
3. Katusha
This year the favourites to take the Top spot in the PT are Leopard followed by Sky and Kautsha. Leopard should take the top spot again, with Frandy Schleck, Cancellara. Visconti and a whole load of average climbers. Sky have a strong team built in all areas of Road Cycling. Kreuziger, Boasson Hagen, Uran and Mollema will lead them. Katusha also have a strong all-round team, with Galimzyanov, Wiggins and Purito. Honourable mention goes to Lotto - Ridley.
Relegation Favourites:
1. Saur - Sojasun
2. Liquigas - Cannondale
3. Francais de Jeux
The winner of this competition is never happy to win, as it means they will be racing in the Continental Tour the following year. This season, newly promoted Saur Sojasun are the favourites to Relegate. They just, dont have that strong of a squad. Also likley to relegate are Liquigas - Cannondale. They need a strong showing from Sagan and Nibali to survive, and if last season is any indication, they wont have that much success. Also worth a mention is FDJ and AG2R, who might also relegate.
Conti Tour Promotion Favourites:
1. GreenEDGE
2. Telefoncia - Santander
3. Cofidis
The favourites to promote are actually fairly easy to predict. Most people see GreenEDGE and Telefonica as the favourites, but for Telefonica it will be vital that Contador and Sanchez perform well if they want to promote. For GreenEDGE, they just have to send one of their many sprinters, to as many races as possible. Then theres Cofidis who have a fairly good squad, but maybe not enough to surpass either Telefonica or GreenEDGE.
And thats it everyone. On to the real season!

After last seasons success, I'm back with Team Sky for another year, of hard work. This season, I must really try and get some significant results, because my contract runs out at the end of the season. I love racing for Sky, but I also enjoy racing in North America, and they dont do that as much. Still I'm going to try and focus more on results and less on the contract. The past few weeks, I've enjoyed looking through all the new teams and transfers, as I sat in my house in front of my toasty wark fireplace, until I flew to Hawaii and went riding with Ryder (Hesjedal) and a few of his buddies. Dom (Rollin) also met up with us, but we neglected to have any funsies sprints, as it would leave Ryder and I, in anger.
After last seasons spectacular finish, I'm hoping to race in a few more, "prestigous" races, I know I want to ride Paris-Roubaix, and LBL, but I'm not sure I'll be selected.
As for the team, we have a bunch of fresh faces here, and I look forward to Daniel Teklehaimanot in particular, as I think he might be a very good climber one day.
At this moment, I'm on my way to Europe for some training with the team. Its been tough saying goodbye's, but now its time for some racing!
This has been a bit neglected by me lately, but as long as someone asks me something, I will continue this segment, in all my Blog Updates. And Cheers for now!

To David: looking at your skills, you're pretty good in everything, but don't excel in something. Are you gonna try to specialize yourself, eg more in timetrial or more in hills/mountains, or do you wanna develop in every possible feature?

Question for David:
Will you race in the Tour Down Under this year, and do you think you have what it takes to ride a Grand Tour for Team Sky?
Thanks! |

Hey, everyone. I'm now in Europe doing some training back with the team. We did a little team ride, and we also got to test out some of the new stuff. I'm loving the new jerseys. They're just subtle changes, but I think they have a little more spice to them than last year.
I can also tell you the first bit, of my season schedule.
| Country | Date | Race | Class | | 19/01 - 24/01 | Santos Tour Down Under (6 Stages) | UWT | | 20/02 - 21/02 | Tour du Haut Var | 2.1 | | 27/02 | Omloop Het Nieuwsblad | 1.HC | | 20/03 | Classic Loire Atlantique | 1.2 | | 05/04 - 10/04 | Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco (6 Stages) | UWT | | 11/04 | Paris - Roubaix | UWT |
I really like my schedule. I feel I will be racing more races I enjoy, and I cant wait to see what I can do at OHN and PR after a year away from cobbled races. I have 16 race days already confirmed, and I think I can still ride some Stage Races later on in the season this way, so I would say its a good schedule for my skills.
Normally I would only answer one question, but this time I'll be a nice guy, and answer both of your questions.
To David: looking at your skills, you're pretty good in everything, but don't excel in something. Are you gonna try to specialize yourself, eg more in timetrial or more in hills/mountains, or do you wanna develop in every possible feature?
Personally, I want to specialize in as many areas as I can. I feel most cyclist are only one-dimensional, either being a sprinter, climber or Cobbles rider. If I can be all three of those, I think I will have a huge advantage in every race, and its something most cyclists even think about.
Will you race in the Tour Down Under this year, and do you think you have what it takes to ride a Grand Tour for Team Sky?
Thanks!
Hello, as you can see, I will be riding the TDU this year! Of course I want to think I have what it takes to ride a GT this season, but if you look at our team, we are very strong all the way through, so I think it will be tough to crack the roster. I would like to ride a GT this year though.
Thanks everyone. And be sure to follow my season as it begins in a couple days!

Nice pre-season schedule. I think David has a chance to excel in some of those races.
