Contador is frequently mentioned in the media just because of this doping case. Even though people don't follow cycling actively I stil think they have a perspective of how big this is. |

Two years from now? That would be huge, i am not expecting that to be honest.

Yes. El Mundo says the same, but still no official news. Should come any minute. |

Sky Sports have just confirmed the news and also he has been stripped of his 2010 and Tour win
Does that mean Schleck is a Grand Tour Winner
All i can say is 'JUSTICE AT LAST' |

Contador's ban ends on August 5th, meaning he can ride this year's Vuelta.
Disgrace if that's true... |

UCI and RFEC have confirmed the ban of Contador. Still waiting for the precise details. |

Don't get carried away. Of course it's great to get the record rid of a cheater, especially if he was caught, but getting Andy Schleck as the winner isn't something very rejoicing. |

Not happy with this for several reasons:
- Another big name has used doping.
- I believed in his innocence, possibly blinded by the fact that I loved his attacking style of riding.
- I don't know who should be my GT-hero now..... Evans because of 1 great Tour and is getting old? Wiggins who never attacks? Schleck who can't timetrial? Cobo who has to show he isn't a onedayfly? Gesink who has to deal with the pressure and stop crashing? Kloden-Kreuziger-Brajkovic-Sanchez-Basso-Nibali, who can do very well, but won't win the Tour? Think I'll stick with Anton or Rodriguez, they'll always attack (and loose it because of the ITT)...
- Hope the ban starts from the positive test, and someone should also punish all the doping-authorities for not giving a verdict sooner.
Who, oh why, are some athletes this stupid to use dope? The authorities will foind out sooner or later and then you'll get punished in more ways anyway....
I really think that Contador did not needed this to win the Tour and Giro, as he is the best GT-rider when he stays clean. Stupid, stupid, stupid, idiot..........

So if it is indeed a retroactive ban, that means he loses the Giro as well as any other results since Le Tour 2010, right?
And Andy Schleck winning Le Tour? Bleah.

Why do you need a GT-hero?
And why should the ban start from the day of the positive test? He has been racing since... Besides, it's not the authorities fault that the case took so long. Contador's team asked for several delays. |

It's not really news though
A backdated ban would be just dumb, however glad it is over

and the UCI won't comment any further... helpful.
BBC saying it's backdated and ends 6th August 2012.
edit: Sky News seem to be rolling with that now too (having previously being unsure)
