If Contador thinks he had problems with Armstrong, just wait until he meets Vinokourev. What kind of personality clash do you figure those two will have?

That goes back to what I'm saying... Vinokourev knows the only way he gets back to the TDF is with Contador on Astana. No Contador, no invitation.
Vinokourev is 35 - he's got one year left with Contador before AC's contract runs out and he goes off to another team. Realistically speaking, he's got one more chance to win the TDF - do you really think he's going to be all that selfless out there when the rubber meets the road? |

I'm not saying that - what I'm saying is that you have to look at this from Astana's viewpoint. If they don't have Contador, then they're out of the TDF.... and even if they try to keep him under contract, if he isn't happy, he's liable to sit out the 2010 TDF. So of course Vinokourev is trying to make him happy.
The trouble comes in the race... you're liable to have an Astana team made up of Contador, Paulinho, Zuebeldia on the one side and about a half dozen Kazakhs (including Vinokourev) on the other. That doesn't tend to make for either a very strong team or a very unified one, does it?
Compare that to the unity and strength that teams like Saxobank or Radio Shack will bring to the contest next year - Contador may be the best rider out there today, but all I see in store for him is either sitting out the TDF next year or being mired on a weak and divided team. |

He's still got another year on his contract with Astana, though. Why would Astana let him out of that considering that if they did, they probably wouldn't get an invitation to next year's TDF? |

In the US we make fun of people who take Colbert seriously.
Basically, Colbert is playing a character... the right wing political media nutcase. He's basically mocking people like Bill O'Reilly. It's entirely satire. |
