Menchov 1:51 back in 1st split. A tour to forget
At least Ballan beats him for the "Most Anonymous Team Leader"-award...
Only because Ballan has been able to stay on his bike a bit better.
Without the crashes, Menchov would win I think. |

And this being Menchov, he's content to sit in the pack AND DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING yet he still goes all the way to paris.
Pathetic. |

He went in the break yesterday.
Interestingly both Rogers and Armstong pick Kloden as favourite.

Ignatiev rises back from the dead after 2 years of obscurity
Well, this will not likely be any better result than he rode in TT of last year's Giro. So, not really.
Actually, that one doesn't really count because the last 60 riders in that TT rode against a strong headwind, which is why the results stood as they were.
As much as I'd like to believe Pinotti won because he was better on the day, he didn't
Well, maybe there was a headwin for later starters. But looking at the time differences and starting numbers, I would conclude that ONLY Vandevelde & Contador might have a case of having been faster than Ignatiev that day with equal conditions (in addition to Pinotti + Martin). Back to Square One |

Yes he did. But he didn't pull much at all, and didn't do much of an effort to make it stick. And when it got caught, that was it.
He's got no fight at all in him.

I agree with them

Don't think so. The wind was tremendous. Anyway, we've both made our points, so as you say, back to square one |

Any chances for Evans? - TdF website saying he didn't even go out and look at the course!
Anyone got any ideas whats the deal with Cadel this year? |

Evans is going to see a doctor immediately after the tour to see if he can find out why he suddenly became so weak after the first mountain stage. |

Mistimed his condition peak. Was good in Dauphine, but ran empty midway of tour. Not the 1st one to do that (Mayo, Moreau) |

Okay... wonder what the odds would be before the Tour started that Hincapie would finish ahead of Evans and Menchov in the GC? |

This makes sense - from the Monaco TT and the first Pyrenees stage he looked like a real contendor but in the alps he just has faded badly.
Cyclingnews seem to suggest he is protesting against the support of his team or something - which seemed like sour grapes he just didn't look strong enough most of the time.
Lets be fair about Menchov he won the Giro, speaking of that Sastre, Rogers, Pellizotti have not been able to use the Giro as an effective tune up for the Tour either. Is there something in this? |

Moreau has started pretty well. Only 38 secs behind Ignatiev. Best behind the Big 7.
btw, he is really coming good now in the end of Tour. Too bad, there is nothing more major than Paris-Correze & Tour de l'Ain in Aritubel-calendar after this.... |

Nibali & Kreuziger were always Liquigas' GC riders for Tour. Pellizotti only targetted Maillot Pois & stage wins. He hasn't done badly IMO. |

L-L Sanchez equal to Cancellara in 2nd split. Hill shouldn't hurt him either. He was completeyl missing from my radar!
