Has he ever really been given the chance? He ended up being leader in tdf in 2006 after Ullrich was thrown out for OP involvement, and then he got 2nd even though he prepared for the tour as a helper.
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

official press release, as for Kloden I hope he stays as a domestique because he isn't strong enough to win it, anyway he will probably end up banned.

I could see Horner, Leipheimer, Armstrong, Popo, Jani joining for sure.
I could see some of the non-Khazak riders joining as well.
Don't think Phinney should jump yet, needs a bit more work. He is a great track/TT rider. I still don't think he's ready for UCI though. |

Considering that they were/are getting killed by the recession, and they are always deserted (at least in my area), I find it a surprising choice to say the least... |

Jani? He's previously expressed concerns over the GT situation, saying that he wants to ride the Tour. So I guess that Army will have to guarantee him that. We'll see. |

If Klöden stays with Vinokourov who betrayed him in 2007, i don't understand what the hell he is thinking. |

Jani wants to join! He said: Wouldn't every rider want to ride with the best cyclist of the new era? Only a few lucky boys will be there tho.
And he is one of those lucky boys. He is for sure good enough!

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the guys from Trek-Livestrong make the move. They wont be part of the Tour team by any means but they would be good for down the road. Whoever join's you know will have a good relationship with Lance as he is very demanding when it comes to loyalty at the Tour.
I see Popovych making the switch as much as I see Levi making the move. Popo is one of the best teammates Lance has ever had. I also see Kloden makin the move. Horner as well.
I could see Evan's making the switch in a year or two, once Lance decides to retire yet again. Silence-Lotto screwed Evan's over this year and I honestly dont see him staying there for much longer.
It will be interesting which Garmin/Columbia riders make the move to lances team in the coming years.
Do you think Lance will make the move to Director Sportif after he re-retires? He avoided the sport completely it seemed for the first couple years of his retirement, I wouldnt be surprised if he sticks to his Livestrong foundation.
Also did you notice that it said Lance will be competeing in Tri's and Marathons under the RadioShack name also. |

I have read that he think about a career in politics, so...

Thats very true, I forgot about that. He was thinking about Governor of Texas I believe...well I'm sure he will remain very tight with his new team regardless.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see Axel Merkx switch over within a couple years from his DS position with Trek-Livestrong. |

Actually I think they have an improving market because of the recession, people still buy electronics they just go to places like Wal-mart and Radio Shaft (I know I spelled it wrong it is a family joke), because the prices are cheaper. |

I dont think Lance will become a DS, do you think a guy like him can retire and then watch all the races from a car all year round. He couldn't stand watching how slow everyone was riding from his own home when he retired.
anyway if he wants to be a great Ironman Triathlete he will have to settle down somewhere and be training at least 2/3 times a day. |

Several journalists and insiders say that Armstrong is interested in the Schleck brothers for his new team.
Andy didn't want to respond to the rumours while Bjarne Riis said that he still has a contract with them for one more year. |

Been reading a bit more about the RadioShack / Andy-deal.
It appears that Armstrong indeed is trying to sign Andy Schleck, but that the negotiations have stranded for two reasons:
1. Andy Schleck still has 1 more year of serving Saxo Bank according to his contract.
2. LA doesn't want Frank Schleck, only Andy. |
