Will the break be let go. Maybe martinez will get the jersey for a day or two like in the vuelta. I think astana wont chase till later its up to csc i think. Nice to see a variety of teams up there and i hope they make it as it makes it really interesting having two races on the final climb. I heard frohlinger is meant to be a climber?? |

Usually, on a first mountain stage, a break makes it. So, Martinez, Gutierrrez, Kyschinski or Nocentini for the win? |

IMO Nocientini wont win as he suffers on long climbs u would say frohlinger martinez or gutierrez but only my opinion. Most likely it will be wrong. And martinez will be motivated after missing out last year and will attack before the top this time |

Nocentini was 5th or 6th last year on Mont Ventoux in Paris Nice. When Evans wheelsucked his way to victory behind Gesink. |

Nocentini was in top shape during that paris nice and not many others were. I would rate martinez adn gutierrez as better climbers personally. |

I'm gonna go with the cyclingnews master of prediction forum guy way: This stage will be won by a breakaway rider..., or by a strong climber..., or by a lucky guy... (and I'll be back in like 3 hours to say "Did you see it? I said that! Who is your daddy now?).

I think today is going to be a day for the favorites, not for a breakaway. Menchov, and to a lesser extent Evans, has nothing to lose, and I think one of them will instigate the attacks. Maybe the break survives, but I wouldn't count on it, and even if they do I think there will be significant fireworks behind from the contenders. |

One thing is sure, Cancellara has guts. There are worse descenders.

Quite true. A nice demonstration of descending skills.

Versus is showing an interview with Bruyneel at the moment. He got all giddy when he was talking about how Astana was strong enough to control the race. He looks like he just shot himself up with heroin, its the funniest interview with him I've ever seen. |
