Stage 4
Marbella - Benahavis
yesterday I decided to send one of my possible breakaway riders Rodrigues at the breakaway, After possible climber jersey.
..and breakaway group..Delio Ferández, Flecha and Rodrigues.
After firt hill top there is just Flecha and Rodrigues left at the front..this is great rider to work with. Rodrigues is realy motivated today.
Then Flecha started to atack..he is trying again. Specialy on flat..off the seat and atack..so far Rodrigues has able to follow. I think that Flecha is still far from he's top form.
..and another flat atack. This will work? Rodrigues in trouble. Also Flecha atack moments are starting to be shorter and shorter.
With 20 km. mark Rodrigues finding some power..to get back behind Flecha. Flecha is looking real tired now. This is moment when I first thinking ..that they might actualy make it.
In the main pack..Gomes Marchante atack....nothing serious..
Peloton is so close..and sprint has started. Rodrigues passing Flecha..that was easy.
Help is coming...Freire and Nuyens separating from main group..Pinto is trying to counter..
To late..Rodrigues takes stage win. This is second for our team..and as first one. This one was again surprise.
Rabobank and Liberty will share 5 first places..

Stage 5
Torrox Costa - Antequera
Last stage..is also hardest stage. Andalucia tour has been so far quite succesful story for our team. Today team leader Guerra should step up..and let's can he handle that pressure and keep up with favorites.
Surprise atack..at least for me. Sprinter Freire atacking at the hill..when we have 96,6 km. to go. He has been invisible so far.
Counter riders Gomez and Gomez Marchante..
David Blanco at the last uphill..this is serious. Guerra should be ready now.
Blanco has cought breakaway group..Valverde has atacked.
Moreno and Guerra atacking..they are passing Freire..
Moreno has cought team leader Valverde he was stronger then Guerra..another Caisse man Perez passing Guerra.
This is gona hurt..Guerra need to keep on pushing. Riders who can take the hill top at the lead group has hugh advantage.
..almost there a little more..
Descent..reief. Guerra is in lead group with Blanco and 3 Caisse boys Valverde, Perez, Moreno.
..sprint..Blanco is launching first. Guerra was looking Valverde and thinking that would be obvious if Caisse will take a win. But after Blanco move he follows.
Same time crash into chasers group. Our sprinter Pinto made spetacular fall...he is ok to move on
Strabge missed sprint for Valverde..he is closing but this is to late. Same time at the front Guerra has no chanche to pass Blanco.
Blanco takes stage win..Guerra..Valverde. This is also podium 1. Valverde 2. Blanco 3. Guerra..another race win for Valverde and another podium for us. So far february has been just great for Liberty.
Also no need to forget Rodrigues climber jersey and solo stage win..
..another crash Fuji and Gomez falling at the last corner.

Recent great results. Several general classification podium spots. Two stage wins. We are now invited to Paris-Nice. I think we should change a little march caledar now.

You're doing pretty well for yourself
Too bad Cardoso sucks on hills (that's a DB problem. In reality he climbs better than pretty much any other sprinter in europe), so he's a bit too tired in the sprints
Also, WTF is with Plaza being better than Guerra? It should be the other way around. Plaza's much worse than Guerra! |

Stage 3
V.R-S.Antonio - Malhao
Uphill finish..
Aerts in the early breakaway...
62 to go..Devolder atacking. Race leader Vaitkus counters..(Vaitkus has impressed me..after hard uphill he is still ready to atack)
Devolder has passed all early breakaway riders and is now all alone at the front.
..atack wave..Grivko and Moletta..
10 to go. mark..and Herrero atack. Devolder is still alone out there and has solid advantage...
Plaza, Vaitkus and Boonen counter atack..
Devolder is to far away..stage win and tour lead belongs to him..chase group between Devolder and main group...Herrero and Plaza are trying to drop Boonen and Moletta..
Devolder..stage winner and hugh GC favorite now. There is gonna be hard to pass him with TT..
..who will be the second? Plaza has passed Herrero..but main group is also there. Chavanel and Lopez coming..
..and also passing Plaza. In GC Plaza is now at the second place..Devolder seems to be out of the reach..and Chavanel will try to beat Plaza.

Pinto is here as team leader and main sprinter..light uphill should be great for him..
all fun started 7km. before the finish..Caisse leader Gutierrez decided to breakaway..
Gutierrez is just to strong rider to let go..counter wave..Vilela and Horillo follows.
Vilela leading a race and tryig to get away..Andalucia team pulling main group..Caisse sprint train has formed. Lastras, Pasamontes, Amador..two Liberty riders follows..Rodrigues, Pinto.
Vilela is faiding ..and Caisse train is fastest at the moment.
..and sprint all out..Nice shot..this is gonna e between Caisse and Liberty.
..and uphill Rodrigues and Lastras separating..
Rodrigues was trying to pass Caisse rider, but Lastras is just stronger today..but nice active ride for Liberty team 2..4..8. Great!
Game crashed when I tryed to export results..so here it is. |
