About Galicia - I think they were invited for Mosquera.
Unfortunately he got injured a few weeks before the Giro.
The team but in fair showing I thought. They got themselves into quite a few breakaways.
yep..
this is different in cycling. If you wach like 1990-1996 tour videos..
breakaway guys made it there more often..
2009 Giro main pack was eager to go after an close breakaways down (even when they had no reason to do this)..
That has something to do with the fact that Indurains team was very weak.

A lot of Astana's financial problems were escalated by the fact they had to fill up a second bank guarantee in addition to the usual one every team has.
No we know why: the money in the first guarantee is frozen by the court.
Why?
Because Gusev's suing Astana for wrongful dismissal.

Aha.
And just to clarify: From what I've read, the Astana riders haven't received their monthly payment this month either. Therefore, they'll show up with the same jersey in Dauphine as they wore in the Giro.
An Astana spokesman also mentioned that the team will sign with a new sponsor very soon. |

Apparently, Ventoso tested positive a year ago. I had no idea.

Assuming youve read it from cyclingnews like me, Im wondering if it was just Vila in 2008, and Ventoso's out of competition test was this year, May 28th, just over a week ago,
Either way, it was surprisingly low-key. |

Nope, I dug around a little bit after reading it on cyclingnews. It was in fact a year ago. He got a 9 month ban.

Not quite sure why he is appealing it then, now its over.
And looking at CQuotient, there seems to be an 8 month gap between his last race in 2008 and first rage in 2009, so it seems fairly plausible.
Dunno why more wasnt made of it at the time though. |

The ASO will follow the UCI in regards to Boonen.
It appears he will go in front of the UCI before the Tour de France, and whatever the UCI says, ASO will go with it.
So, UCI says no ban. Boonen rides the tour
UCI says bye boonen. Boonen can't ride the tour.

It's the UCI. they'll continue to pretend there's no doping anywhere and no one should be banned for anything.

I like Hinaults arrogance and how he always makes himself look like a god

Le Equipe ran that story on their website a few days ago.
I may have given extracts to people on MSN, but Hinault is a legend of cycling. He can get away with it

Agreed, he has earned the right to express his opinions. Even though he sounds a little crazy sometimes. |
