I think that ASO will be so hard that they take away his victory. But maybe he was clean in that victory but who cares. The moralistic winner is Andy. |

Bettini didn't medal in any cycling event in the olympics.
And any form of enhancing aerobic performance helps weightlifting. It won't aid the actual action of lifting the weight, which is pretty much entirely anaerobic, but it aids the recovery process (think oxygen debt, just a little more advanced), and has other implications.

If this turns out to be true I think Holczer wouldn´t return to cycling or an engagement at the british sky sport team which is sad because I think he is nice

How much does CERA help you in weightlifting?
Actually, EPO has been used by weightlifters for a long time, because the increase of the aerobic capabilities means that there is more anaerobic energy available during the power effort. On the other hand, it seems that EPO has a considerable effect in reducing the fatigue symptoms, so it helps a lot for weighlifting training.

EPO and CERA does help weight lifters, yes, why else would you have news like this:

I found that weird too, but that is what D. Mottram, Drugs in sport says about EPO use in weightlifting. But, to be honest, I'm quite surprised and I don't put my hand on the fire defending this. I can't find a clear help in aerobic efforts; the metabolyms are just different.

One "clean" lift takes less than 10 seconds, therefore utilises the PCR - ATP system for the majority of the energy required to resynthesise ADP into ATP, to be broken down again to power the movement of muscles. Whilst EPO helps training efforts - as there are often lots of sets done etc, I fail to see the use of EPO in one competitive lift. Like you and I have both agreed on, yes it aids the recovery process, but other than that, I don't think it has any effect on one lift max.
Unless D.Mottram is referring to the potential increase in power due to using EPO during training, but then we wouldn't see the tests coming back positive during competition if that was the case. Either way, druggies are retarded. (almost as retarded as my spelling of the word - this being my 3rd edit of this post). Surely they can see that nowadays you really can win clean.

I don't hate Haussler. I like his racing style.
I'm just extremely suspicious of riders who make suspicious jumps. It's a result of the last few years. Every time there was a suprise people where screaming "he is doped", then I would say "there is no proof for that, he just made a good progression in training, shut up". And in the end, the guy got caught. So now I'm not so trusting in that kind of riders anymore. |

It is getting harder and harder to get those short term memory losses that allow us to get excited by an improved prospect. I still try however. |

And very unsurprisingly, Rebellin says he's not guilty and that he wants a B-sample. |

Yes BIG Surprise.
But as always when the B sample is positive they try to make up some crazy story. (Hamilton and his twin ) |
